Just and FYI out there for you local Helena people. I hired 3 Brothers Plumbing to replace a broken water heater. They have been my go to plumbing company for years. In previous years the did the job, and I might add very well, and then billed me for the services. Well this week after I hired them to replace my water heater they had a little trouble trying to get my heater out of the place it was located. The worker wanted to tear out my door and framework to move the heater out. I intervened a little and suggested we just take my skill saw and cut 2" of the 2x6 frame piece and see if the water heater could come out easily. It did. Then they took the existing copper pipe and moved it around to allow it to be connected to the existing pressure pump. With the handling of the pipe at the T that connected the two elements a new leak became obvious. The fix would of been to shut down the pump and re-soder the connection. They declined to do that. The clean up the job and told me all was good and to watch the leak and get the pump installers to come and fix the connection. Which to me was not their job it was 3 Brothers job to install my water heater and make it functional. 2 hours after they left this job that T connection popped and water exploded all over my bathroom, hall way, and 1st floor bedroom. I told the owner of the company that they needed to come out and fix the connection as they were hired to replace my water heater and of course make it completely functional. He told me that until I paid the labor and parts cost of that day they were not coming out to fix it. I was quoted by the lady that answers the phone that if I bought the water heater myself and disposed of the old heater that would save me considerable amount of money. The original quote to replace the water heater was $2,400.00. If if did those two things above myself the price would be $150.00 per hour plus parts and it usually took about 3 hours to accomplish. Well the bill the owner wanted me to pay for 7 hours labor plus parts was $2,200.00. I asked if I could pay $1200.00 now and the balance next thursday. He said no, and refused to come fix their mistake. So in the mean time I had no water and no electricity for 2 days due to their mistake. I am presently doing well as the pump company which I have also used in the past came out and said that the plumbing company was responsible for the pipe blowing and they should have fixed it when they discovered the leak. They did not. The new Owners of the H&L drilling company had a crew come out and fixed the problem within one hour and the job was so professionally done I was totally amazed at the two employees that completed the job. I thank the LORD for them as I prayed all night to get this resolved. I am presently starting the process to sue 3 Brothers Plumbing. I will update more as this progresses. So BEWARE. A company that now demands payment upon completion of a job instead of allowing old customers the same courtesy of paying as billed I guess is not available any more. I have done business with 3 Brothers Pluming for many many years and this is where they are today. I hate it our community is coming these means in order to conduct business. Makes me wonder what happen to good old reliable Montana service and reliable workmanship. Have a great day.......
