Meet Shay.
Four years old. Forty-three pounds of everything we strive for.
Shay is out of Daybell's Jackie — a daughter of JJ from Josh Goldsmith — and by Richard, a Walker x Grace dog. If you know working dog bloodlines, you already know what that combination means on cattle.
But bloodlines only tell part of the story.
Shay is the strongest female I have ever owned. She moves into pressure without hesitation. She bites clean. She has a high pain tolerance and an attitude to match. She has been an absolute pleasure to train from day one — the kind of dog that makes you a better trainer because she demands your best.
She is built extremely well and athletic in a way you notice immediately when she works. Everything about her conformation supports what she does.
Shay is the standard we are building toward with every dog that carries the Daybell name.
She is the mother of one litter currently on the ground. Over the next several months you will watch her genetics go to work. We will be documenting every step of the training journey right here on this page.
If you have ever wanted a dog like Shay working your cattle — stay with us.
