In Loving Memory of Willow “Wilbert” “Bean”

Willow, lovingly known as “Wilbert” and “Bean,” a devoted Pit Mix, passed away on April 1, 2026, at the age of 14. Born in July of 2012, Bean lived a life full of loyalty, comfort, and plenty of laughter for those who knew her best.

She was the cherished companion of her owner, Maegan Hearndon, and a steady, loving presence in the life of her daughter, Lola. Bean was the kind of dog whose loyalty ran deep—she didn’t just love her family, she needed to be near them. Rarely more than a step away, she made it her life’s mission to stay close, offering quiet companionship and unconditional affection every single day.

Bean had a personality that was as easygoing as it was memorable. She wasn’t one to fuss over toys—she preferred the simple pleasures: a good butt scratch, lounging near her people, and, of course, enjoying any treat she could get her paws on. Known for her love of food, it’s safe to say she “never met a snack she didn’t like,” and pup cups were among her absolute favorites.

Her family will always remember her for her gentle spirit, her constant presence, and the comfort she brought just by being there. Bean didn’t need grand gestures to show her love—she showed it in quiet moments, in closeness, and in the unwavering bond she shared with those she loved most.

Though she may be gone from sight, the imprint she left on her family’s hearts will remain forever.

A Look at Our Urn Options & What Comes Standard

We’ve had a few questions lately regarding urns and what families receive when choosing Wright Pet Crematory, so I wanted to take a moment to provide some clarity.

At the center of this photo is the standard urn provided with every private cremation we perform. This is the same style urn used by Wright Funeral Home for our human families. We often refer to it as a temporary urn, but many families choose to keep it permanently—and that is perfectly okay.

Unlike some pet crematories that offer communal (mass) cremation to reduce overhead and increase volume, every pet entrusted to us is cremated individually. That commitment to private care is where our focus remains—from start to finish.

That said, we do offer a selection of urns for families who wish to personalize their pet’s final resting place:

https://www.pageturnpro.com/Crescent-Memorial/49392-The-Crescent-Pet-Collection/0/mindex.html

• The wooden urns pictured behind the standard urn are our most cost-efficient upgrade options, starting at $50, and allow for a favorite photo to be displayed on the front
• Many urns can be custom engraved for an additional $40 using our in-house order process
• All merchandise is sourced through the same trusted supplier used by Wright Funeral Home—ensuring a higher level of quality and consistency

You may notice the bulldog displayed in the photo—that is a custom piece made by Petsies, a small business I’ve partnered with. They specialize in creating lifelike plush replicas of your pet based on photos you provide.

These aren’t generic stuffed animals—they are carefully designed to match your pet’s:
• Coat pattern & markings
• Eye color and expression
• Body shape and proportions

For families who want something even more personal, Petsies offers the option to include a discreet internal pouch, allowing a small portion of cremated remains to be placed inside—creating a truly meaningful keepsake that feels close in a different way than a traditional urn.

Whether your pet has passed or is still with you, these can be made at any time and have become a very special option for families looking for something unique and comforting.

While similar-looking urns may be found online, the difference in craftsmanship and material quality is noticeable when compared to what we provide.

Most importantly—there is absolutely no obligation to purchase an urn from us.
Families are welcome to:
• Use the standard urn provided
• Bring a container from home
• Purchase an urn from a third party (including Amazon or custom makers)

If you choose to bring your own urn, we will respectfully handle the transfer of your pet’s cremated remains with proper authorization using our third-party release process .

Our goal has always been simple:
To provide the same dignity, care, and respect to your pets as we do for every family served by Wright Funeral Home.

For those with any questions—about urns, keepsakes, or options like Petsies—I’m always happy to walk you through what feels right for your family.

Miss Tiny Hill, a beloved Yorkie of Dothan, Alabama, passed away on March 5, 2026, at the age of six.

🐾❤️Cleo Black❤️🐾

Miss Cleo Black, a beloved French Bulldog of Headland, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at the age of five.

Born on March 12, 2021, Cleo was a precious and deeply loved companion to Wesley and Courtney Black. She brought constant love, laughter, and personality into their lives and home. Cleo was also cherished by her mama, Tillie, and her siblings, Kessler and Kamp.

Cleo was truly a spoiled stay-at-home princess who knew exactly how to keep watch over her home. She especially enjoyed surveying the world from the front door, always ready to let everyone know when someone was passing by. Though small in stature, Cleo had a big presence and an even bigger place in the hearts of those who loved her.

She loved her monthly Bark Box, especially bully sticks, and always preferred to have soft food on top of her hard food. While she was never much for toys, Cleo dearly loved her Auburn blanket, going on walks with Tillie, swinging on the porch swing, and snuggling close to Tillie and Courtney. No matter where Courtney went, Cleo was never far behind, usually right under her feet, content simply being near the ones she loved most.

Cleo will be remembered as a sweet and devoted girl who adored attention, treasured her family, and filled each day with comfort and companionship. Her memory will be held closely and lovingly by all who knew her.

Last week, Wright Pet Crematory was honored to care for this pretty boy. ❤️🐾

Copper Henderson, a beloved Golden Retriever of Headland, Alabama, passed away at home on March 25, 2026, at 6:45 p.m. at the age of two and a half years old. Born in May of 2023, Copper filled his short but treasured life with loyalty, playfulness, and the kind of unconditional love only a dog can give.

Copper was a devoted companion to his guardian, Kelsea Henderson, and a faithful friend to his sibling, Rambo. He was also a special part of the lives of Emery and Levi Henderson, who knew him as both a playmate and a gentle protector. Whether he was keeping watch over his family, chasing after squirrels, or staying close to the ones he loved most, Copper took his role seriously and faithfully. He was, by all accounts, a squirrel hunter and protector with a heart full of devotion.

He found joy in the simple things that made life sweet: bacon bites, a good stick, or a ball ready to be chased across the yard. Copper’s presence brought comfort, fun, and security to his home, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who loved him.

Though his time here was far too brief, Copper leaves behind a life marked by love, companionship, and happy memories that will not be forgotten. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In Loving Memory of
Jasper Buchanan Trouant

Jasper Buchanan Trouant was the most loving big fella you could ever meet.

When he was rescued in 2019, Jasper had often been overlooked because of his breed and his size. But the moment he came home, it was clear he was simply a big baby—gentle, affectionate, and full of quiet love. Though his life before rescue had been a hard one, Jasper never let that define him. Instead, he offered nothing but patience, warmth, and loyalty to those who loved him.

Jasper was laid back and endlessly kind, a steady presence and a true friend. We knew he was older when he found his way to us, and we knew as time passed that he was slowing down. Still, his love never slowed. He gave it freely, completely, and without condition.

Jasper passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 6, 2026. He was deeply loved by his parents, Dylan and Ashtyn Trouant; his human sisters, Madeleine Trouant (and Elowyn Trouant, expected in June); his fur sisters, June and Scooby; his grandparents, Jonathan and Ashley Whaley; and his uncle, Jameson Whaley.

He leaves behind a space that can never be filled and a love that will never fade. Jasper will be forever missed and forever loved.

In Loving Memory of Bea Wright Aplin

Bea, a beloved feline companion, crossed the Rainbow Bridge last night at the age of 13, leaving behind a home filled with memories, familiar routines, and the unmistakable presence only a cat like Bea could give.

Affectionately known as a “sour patch kitty,” Bea kept life interesting in all the best ways. She had a gift for finding the coziest blankets in the house and making them her own, and she could often be found chirping at birds from the patio—ever curious, ever watchful. Bea also had a mischievous streak and was famous for her stealthy “chicken heists,” swiping a bite from a plate the moment she thought no one was paying attention.

Though she may not have always been the cuddliest, Bea’s love was steady and true—shown in her own unique way through her companionship, spirit, and daily presence. In her final moments, she chose comfort and closeness, spending her last moments curled up under her blanket with her loved one, surrounded by familiarity and love. Her family takes comfort in knowing Bea is no longer in pain, and that what mattered most was her peace.

Bea is preceded in death by her fur siblings, Scout and Sarge, who will be waiting on the Rainbow Bridge to greet their loved ones as they one day arrive. She leaves behind her devoted guardians, Caitlin and Michael Aplin; her human little sister, Vivian; and her doodle brother, Remy.

For 13 years, Bea brought laughter, stories worth telling, and the kind of companionship that quietly becomes part of a family’s heart. Her absence will be deeply felt, but her memory—full of warmth, personality, and those perfectly Bea-like moments—will be cherished always.

In Loving Memory of Shelby McKee
June 10, 2012 – January 27, 2026

Shelby McKee, a beloved Boxer and cherished member of the McKee family, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at home in Headland, Alabama. Born in Newton, Alabama, Shelby spent 13 wonderful years bringing comfort, laughter, and steadfast loyalty to everyone who knew her.

Shelby had a heart made for people. She loved to run and play with everyone she met, and she never hesitated to share affection with a friend—new or old. Her family shared, “Shelby loved to run & play with everyone. She loved Gracie to take naps with her and being inside with family. She was a family member. She made our house feel like a home.”

In true “protector” fashion, Shelby took her job seriously—especially when it came to watching over her family and, most especially, her girl, Gracie. If Dad ever got onto Gracie, Shelby was quick to voice her opinion, always ready to stand up for her. Shelby also loved being petted and was known for loving everyone she met.

Shelby is lovingly remembered by her guardian, Todd McKee, and her human siblings, Gracie and John McKee, along with all who were lucky enough to experience her joyful spirit and faithful companionship.

Shelby’s favorite treats were pork and pork-bone treats, and while she wasn’t much for toys, she never needed them—her favorite place was right beside her family. Wright Pet Crematory is honored to have served the McKee family in Shelby’s final care.

In Loving Memory of Milo Hallford

Wright Pet Crematory honors the life and love of Milo Hallford, a cherished Maltese Shih-Tzu, who passed away on Monday, January 5th, 2026, in Headland, Alabama.

Born on December 26th, 2017, in Dothan, Alabama, Milo made his home in Headland with the family who adored him most—his guardians, Blake and Kayla Hallford. From the moment he became part of their lives, Milo was more than a pet; he was a steady companion, a source of comfort, and a constant presence in the home.

Milo proudly shared life with his furry sibling, Boone (Dachshund), and he held a special place right beside the children he watched over, Madi and Emmie Hallford. True to his “occupation,” Milo was known as the best protector of his kids and a lover of all people—a small dog with a huge heart and an even bigger devotion to his family.

He found happiness in the simple joys: a bite of popcorn whenever he could charm his way into it, and time spent with his favorite toy, Lamb Chop, close by. Milo’s gentle spirit, loyal nature, and comforting presence will be deeply missed, but the love he gave so freely will remain a part of his family always.

Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever in our hearts.

A message from Hayes:

To our community, our supporters, and the families who have entrusted us with your beloved pets—

Thank you.

It is a humbling honor to share that as of today, I have performed 105 cremations since opening (April 24th) Wright Pet Crematory. That number represents far more than a milestone—it represents 105 stories, 105 companions, and 105 families who allowed us to be present during one of the hardest moments of pet ownership.

I cannot fully express how grateful I am for the trust you’ve placed in me and in our team. Serving families during times of loss has always been the heart of what we do at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory, and it has been my mission to provide that same level of dignity, gentleness, and care through Wright Pet Crematory. There is truly not a job or career I could find more fulfilling.

What makes this milestone even more meaningful is that much of our growth has come solely through word of mouth—your kind recommendations, your encouragement, and the way you have shared your experiences with others. I honestly haven’t even had time to properly market or advertise, and that speaks volumes about the compassion and support within our community.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for every call, every message, every referral, and most of all, for allowing us to care for the pets who meant the world to you. We do not take that responsibility lightly, and we will continue to serve with the respect your family deserves.

With sincere gratitude,
Hayes Wright
