First foal of 2025 is a…. FILLY!!

This was my most anticipated cross for 2025 and Rosie girl didn’t disappoint!

This filly is a Grandaughter of “Light N Lena” and the power house mare “Dual Lookin Pep” and she is sired by Metallic Cattack 😍 (If anyone has been around long enough, this has been one of my favorite studs for a VERY long time.)

Mommas barn name is Rosie and Daddies is Tic-Tac. Any suggestions??

It's time for another CCC Equine Program alumni feature!

"Hi! My name is Lexi Jahay. (Penke- I'm newly married and still not accepting the last name yet. 😅) I live in Hazelton Ks, but am originally from Plattsmouth Ne. I graduated from Colby in 2022. I now manage my own herd of broodmares along with my grandpa. Together we have 16 broodmares. We focus mainly on cutting horses with a few roping mares in there. We have 1 stud who we stand to the public, Calico Chrome. We only started about 3 years ago, but I have had and shown horses my entire life. Outside of breeding I also am building up a training business, work as a crop adjuster, and work at a feed store. As if that wasn’t enough, my husband and I are also raising show pigs!

If you would have told me before I went to Colby that this is what I’d be doing as a career, I would have called you crazy. But I owe everything to Colby. I was very hesitant about moving 6 hours away from my family. But as soon as I met with Shanda for the first time and visited Colby, I had a count down until move in day. Shanda and all my professors not only helped me develop what I wanted to do with my life, but they became my family. The CCC Equine Program made my dream of raising the next champions a reality."

Our 23’ yearling stud c**ts. Looking for a new address.

Grey/red dun- LP Calico Clyde is a son of Calico Chrome, (our personal stud), and is out our grey mare Bonnie- a dick badger, Mr Illuminator bred mare). He is halter broke, stands tied, has had his feet done, loads in trailers, just not a big fan of bath time, but we are working on it!

Buckskin- JJ Calico Buck Fever is a son of Calico CHROME, and out of one of our buckskin mares Maggie- a daughter of Shonuff Bet Hesa Cat and our of a daughter of playboys buck fever. He is halter broke, stands tied, loads in trailers. Hes a bit more skid-dish but we are making progress.

Palomino with a star- LD Dandy Rose is one we purchased last year. This c**t is BIG. He is foundation bred and would make a killer rope horse. He is halter broke, stands tied, loads, got his feet done, and is broke to poney. Hes one of those horses that’s going to pick a person. Once you gain his trust he’ll do anything for you.
