Our good friend, Gabe, has been donating items to CAC for his birthday for many years! Now turning 21, Gabe truly outdid himself! Dog food, cat food, treats, cleaning products, batteries, and even sticky notes! All from our Wish List. Thank you, Gabe, for your dedication to the animals. You truly make a difference in their lives. We wish you the best birthday ever! (The little guy Gabe is holding has already been adopted!)

"Canfield Middle School Mentors are a group of 8th-grade student leaders who work every day to make our school a better place. They chose to host a fund and supply drive for Companions Animal Center at the beginning of May to support their work and animals in need. Our school community responded with enthusiasm and was more than happy to support their amazing work! We were so grateful for this awesome opportunity!" Meet Bruno 💙🐾

Bruno is a 4-year-old shepherd mix with a big heart and a loyal spirit.

He forms strong bonds with his people and is looking for an experienced adopter who understands shepherds and is ready to continue helping him succeed through structure, consistency, and positive reinforcement.

Bruno may show some resource guarding behaviors and will do best with someone willing to meet him where he is and continue building trust together.

With the right match, Bruno has all the makings of a wonderful companion.

Jett is a 3-year-old Shepherd with a gentle nature and a sweet personality. He may be a little shy at first, but underneath that timid exterior is a very loving dog who is learning to trust and feel safe.

Jett was found as a stray with another dog and is still gaining confidence each day. When he feels comfortable, he enjoys cuddles, attention, and being close to his person.

Oh yes, kitten season is definitely here! There are currently 66 kittens in foster care. We use Breeders Edge formula, unfortunately our order is arriving slower than the kittens coming into our care. For the meantime we might need some KMR. If you can find cans of KMR (Kitten Milk Replacer), consider dropping off a few to Companions. Companions Animal Center is urgently seeking more neonate kitten fosters as kitten season begins.

These fragile newborns require specialized care, warmth, bottle feeding, and dedicated foster families to help them survive and thrive.

Meet Luna 💚🐾

Luna is a beautiful 2-year-old Great Pyrenees with a gentle spirit and independent nature.

Currently, Luna is feeling nervous in the shelter environment as she adjusts to new sights, sounds, and experiences. She will need patience, time, and a calm home to help her feel secure and comfortable.

Luna reportedly prefers to be the only pet in the home, as she is not a fan of other dogs or cats.

Because of her background, Luna would do best in a home where she can spend most of her time outdoors, as she is not accustomed to indoor living. A secure, well-fenced area will also be important, as she may have a tendency to wander.

While Great Pyrenees are often known for livestock guardian roles, Luna’s specific experience with livestock is unknown, so slow and careful introductions would be essential if livestock is present.

Luna is looking for the right home that understands her unique needs and is willing to give her the time and space she deserves.
