We want this page to be more than holiday and business closure reminders. We want it to be a place our community enjoys visiting!

Moving forward, we’re excited to share more of what happens behind the scenes at our clinic. One of our clients found this sweet baby sitting on their doorstep off County Road 45 after all of the fireworks. We know someone is missing this little one, and we’d love to help get them back where they belong. ❤️

🎆🇺🇸 An Open Letter from the Pets of Hayden Vet Clinic 🇺🇸🎆

Dear Humans,
We have some questions…
Why is the sky angry?
Why are you eating hot dogs?
And most importantly… why are you all acting like this is normal?

While you maybe be outside saying, “Oooh!” and “Ahhh!” at fireworks, your pets are likely filing official complaints and possibly updating their emergency evacuation plans.

🐶 Dogs: “The sky is exploding, you all are cooking meat outside and I’m confused. The mailman would never do this!”

🐱 Cats: “I’ve survived toddlers, vacuum cleaners and random guest, with only 9 lives and I’m not wasting another one on this.”

🎇 Fireworks season is one of the busiest times of year for lost pets. A normally calm pet can suddenly become an Olympic-level fence jumper when the booms begin.

Before the festivities start:

✔️ Keep pets indoors
✔️ Check collars, tags, and microchip information
✔️ Set up a cozy hiding spot
✔️ Turn on music or the TV
✔️ Call us if your pet needs extra help staying calm to discuss which option may be most suitable for your furry friend. (Please note that pets must have been examined by one of our veterinarians within the last 12 months before prescription medications can be dispensed.)

At Hayden Veterinary Clinic, we’d much rather see photos of your pets enjoying the holiday than help them reunite with their families after a surprise audition for Homeward Bound!

Remember: Your pets do not know that it’s the 4th of July. They just know this has to be government approved thunder.

We have a VERY exciting announcement! With so much community support over our first 4 years of being open, we have grown to a point where we have not been able to help everyone that has needed us in a timely fashion. We have recognized this issue and knew that we needed to grow to be able to help our community more, so after a long and very picky search we are very happy to announce that we have added an associate veterinarian to our team! We cannot wait for everyone to meet Dr. Natalie Tatum. She will be joining us tomorrow, and we will be getting her settled into our hospital. So in the coming weeks appointment availability and availability for sick patient add ons will be increasing. We hope this will help us better take care of our current and future patients.

Hello everyone,
My name is Dr. Natalie Tatum, and I am originally from Camden, Alabama. I earned my bachelor's degree in Animal Science from Auburn University before continuing my education at Lincoln Memorial University, where I completed my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. I am passionate about mixed animal medicine and enjoy working with a variety of species, from companion animals to livestock. During my free time, I enjoy spending time outside, including fishing, kayaking, gardening, or spending time with my family and three dogs. I am excited to join the team and look forward to building relationships with clients and their pets!

Hayden Veterinary Clinic would like to wish everyone a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!! We hope everyone has a great Christmas with lots of quality family time with your 2-legged and 4-legged family members alike.

To give our team time with their families this Christmas, we will be closed December 24, 25, and 26th. We will open back up with normal business hours Monday December 29th.

If you find yourself in an emergency situation with one of your pets this holiday week, please contact Steel City Emergency Vets for any emergency care your pet may need. 205-413-8989
