First off…wishing mama Bella a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY! She has really been doing a great job as a first time mama!

HOWEVER….she has gotten her self into a little bit of trouble. At 3 am she has been wanting to go out to potty and then wants to take a little break from the babies for a few hours to hang out with the humans in bed. No big deal. Overnight she was taking a little longer and I could see her pacing a little bit more with her “potty dance” that she does. I called her and she came. I smelled what I thought was burning plastic and couldn’t figure out what it was. Finally, I figured it was something from one of the large livestock farms nearby. She was rolling around on the leather couch in her puppy room and didn’t want to come to our bedroom so she stayed with her puppies.

About 3 minutes later she was barking so Jim went to let her in with us. He opened the door and I quickly realized what happened. She had been sprayed by a skunk! The smell was in my nose and throat and ALL OVER the house. I have never quite experienced anything like this. She quickly received a bath of baking soda, peroxide and Dawn.

While she smells fine, our house does not! I did need to give it a good cleaning so it looks like it will be cleaned top to bottom this weekend. Meanwhile, the puppies are adorable and thriving. We hope to see those eyes open up any day!!

The Babybels are a week old! We had a little bit of a rough start with this litter, but we think we are all good now and it will be smooth sailing from here on out🤞

Our little runt passed a few days ago and we are devastated! We have not experienced a loss in years, so it is heartbreaking. 💔 He was gaining and thriving and I suspect mama rolled on him even though we have guard rails in place. She has been a great first time mom and is very attentive to her little ones. We can’t fault her for this oversight. She is feeding them well and they are all gaining great!!

We are focusing on the positive and are celebrating the fact that we have 6 beautiful, healthy babies from this litter and 9 from our other litter and that our mamas are happy and content. We really can’t ask for more.

While this litter is fully reserved, stay tuned for updates on what we have planned in the future!

Two whole weeks with Benelli’s babies…or should I say BUTTERBALLS! These chunky things all weigh over 2 pounds!!

Their little eyes are opening and they are starting to wobble around a little to get around the pen…mostly so they can find mama and EAT! We couldn’t be more please with how they are progressing❤️

Our Babybels have arrived! We ended the night with 7 beautiful babies. Bella did great and is adjusting well to motherhood.

There are 6 boys and just one little girl. One of the boys is considerably smaller and thinner, but has been aggressive at the milk bar 🍼. We will be keeping a close eye on him and monitoring him very closely. The first few days are the most crucial, so we are hoping for the best.

I am always very honest and share my vulnerable moments along with our victories. I wasn’t sure I was going to share this, but do believe there is merit in sharing some of the really hard moments of breeding. We had a final puppy born that we lost and it really hit me hard emotionally. Mama got a little too close when chewing the umbilical cord and puppy #8 experienced an umbilical prolapse. Despite keeping everything warm and moist and having her to the emergency vet within 45 minutes (it is a 45 minute drive), they were not able to save her.

It was tough and I will admit, I bawled like a baby. I owed it to that little life to do whatever I could…and I did. I will take solace in knowing that..but it is still tough to watch life slip away.

For now, we have 2 beautiful litters and 2 amazing mamas who need me to give them all the best that I can. And I will.

Once the dust settles a little, I will be sharing more pictures! Thanks to everyone for the unwaivering support we receive. I am lucky to be able to do this!

We were able to sneak away to Florida for a short vacation and take our oldest granddaughter with us. Thankfully, we have awesome adult kids who held things down while we could sneak away before the puppies get too big. It was nice to get away for a few days, but we love coming home to our dogs and puppies!

The first thing we did was check in on Benelli and her babies! They are sooo chunky and are way more than double their birth size (at just 9 days old!!!)

Now, I must attend to Bella as she is in the early stages of labor. I bet we have some puppies this evening!

Just one year ago we were anticipating a summer full of puppies…and that was exactly what we got! Late on May 30, we had 9 Little Luna’s. Then shortly after she finished, early May 31 her mama delivered 9 Tiny Tillies!

It was a great summer full of puppy snuggles. Today we celebrate all EIGHTEEN of these babies on their first birthday!! ❤️

Updated pictures of our remaining 6!

If you have been on the fence about a puppy, this is the week!! We are going on a trip next week and can deliver anywhere along this route FOR FREE (going through Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina)

F1 Aussiedoodles (35-50 lbs): 3 Males
F1B Goldendoodles: (35-45 lbs): 2 Males and 1 Female

As always, our puppies are : health/genetic tested, raised with ENS/ESI, vet checked, microchipped, well socialized, and have a good start with crate and potty training.

This is such a good age to add a puppy; they are really starting to catch on to potty training but still young enough that they can easily assimilate to a new home.

Benelli’s beauties have arrived! Sunday evening when our family was all here, she had her babies. Even though there were some distractions, Ben was a champ and knew exactly what to do…as expected.

She had 9 perfect puppies. 3 solid colored, 3 abstract and 3 partis. I initially thought there were 3 girls and 6 boys, but after looking again there are actually 4 girls ( a cream abstract, 2 solid and one parti) and 5 boys (a solid, 2 parti and 2 abstract)

Benelli really knows what she is doing and they all had significant weight gain the in first 24 hours, which is pretty amazing. She completely trusts us with her babies, but makes sure the other dogs keep a good distance from the puppy nursery.

My goal is to get some individual pictures taken later today so everyone can see the beautiful variety of colors. We are so excited to be hearing little puppy chirps again! And we are so proud of our girl!!

We are on puppy watch for Benelli! School is officially out for the summer, so this litter can come any day now!

Ben’s X-ray showed 8-9 puppies. She has a cluster that makes it a little more difficult to give us an exact answer. The goal is to find a skull and match a spine. We are pretty sure we see 9 skulls, but the spines are overlapping quite a bit on the cluster. Once she has 8, I will be able to use my stethoscope to listen for an additional heartbeat. So…we will wait it out!

Due to her progesterone testing, her due date is Saturday but there can be some variance. We are checking her temperature several times a day since a drastic drop can indicate delivery and we are also watching her other cues.

The puppy room is ready and so are we (along with several anxious families!)
