September is , and we want to raise awareness for these smart and dedicated animals! 🐕‍🦺

that the average service dog learns between 50 - 60 commands? In addition to retrieving items their owners need, they can perform essential tasks like flipping a light switch, pushing buttons and buzzers, and opening doors.

Many thanks to all those who train these incredible dogs to improve the lives of those they serve.

Services dogs truly are a MEDICAL DEVICE, very different from an emotional support dog. If you see a dog with one of these harnesses on, please do not talk to them or address them - you do not want to distract them from their important jobs!

August 22nd is National Bring Your Cat to the Vet Day! We aren't sure why they scheduled it on a Saturday... but we wanted to remind you all that the first week in November is National Cat WEEK! We are going to be hopefully having only cats in the clinic between 8-12 daily, AND are hoping to only have cat surgeries for the whole week! We are going to be doing $100 off cat dentals, spays, and neuters, so call and schedule your smitten kitten today!

Let's talk cat carriers - what do we prefer?

Cats aren't like dogs, they aren't used to travelling in cars. A hard sided carrier (vs. a soft one that will fold in on them) can make them feel more secure, especially if you lay a towel over it that is sprayed with Feliway (calming phermones!) to help block out scary sounds and sights. In terms of getting them in it, we love these triangular shaped carriers - the whole front folds down so you can actually leave it out all the time like a bed so they are more comfortable, and a lot of time we can do the majority of the exam from within the carrier! I know a lot of our clients have these, show them off!

Please help us welcome Dr. Lynch to the practice! We posted a few weeks ago that she had signed on, but she is finally here! This is her fourth week here actually! Many of you may have met her, we mainly have been hiding her away in surgery land to practice her surgery skills, but she has been seeing a few appointments too! Have you met her? What did you think? We love her!
