🐐🩺 A busy week caring for a new herd!

We had the pleasure of providing care for 10 goats this past week! Each goat received their vaccinations, and the males were castrated to help keep this new herd healthy and thriving.

A big thank you to Mr. Strickland for trusting us with the care of his new flock and allowing us to be a part of getting them off to a healthy start! We appreciate the opportunity to serve you and your goats. ❤️

We’re excited to announce that Dr. Thames will now be offering acupuncture at Holland Vet Hospital! 🐾

Acupuncture can be a beneficial treatment option for a variety of conditions and may help with pain management, mobility, inflammation, and overall comfort.

Cool case!

Dr. Campbell brought her dog Hendrix in after she noticed him squinting in one of his eyes. His eye was watery and seemed painful.

A fluorescein stain revealed a corneal abrasion or superficial corneal ulcer of the left eye.

We treated with a topical antibiotic in that eye every 4 hours and added serum eye drops which came straight from Hendrix’s own blood that we spun down.

Hendrix, being a schnauzer and having diabetes, has significant lipemia (lipids in his blood), so when his blood was spun down and separated, his serum looked like pink milk 🙂 Typical serum should be clear, but it was still okay to use as a topical treatment for his corneal ulcer.

Hendrix had his recheck today(a week later) and his corneal abrasion has healed!
