Question for Barrel Racing contestants since I’ve been seeing higher show payouts resulting from higher entry fees even though the payout percentages are lower. Runs using sixty, sixty-five, or seventy percent payouts aren’t being recognized by many because the higher entry fees are overshadowing the lower payout percentage. Now obviously, some don’t advertise what percentage and some do. But, BBR and other associations require a minimum payout percentage which is advertised.

1) Would you rather pay a $40 entry fee with an 80% payback
($40 x 80% =$32 goes into the pot). Producer gets $8.

2) Or would you rather pay a $50 entry fee with a 70% payback
($50 x 70% =$35 goes into the pot)? Producer gets $15.

So the 2nd option would add $3 per entry more to the pot than option 1; therefore, accounting for the higher payout. But, each contestant has to pay $10 more to enter in option 1.

Ok…give me your opinions, and remember everyone has one and not just the 1D people. All are welcome.

2017 AQHA Bay Gelding. 15.2 hds. 1250 #
This is a nice gelding that has been only gone slow the last couple years due to the owner’s fear of going fast. He can go fast just had to be reminded. I’ll list a video in the comments of him going faster last week. He rides around quiet. He can be a little different if he doesn’t know you. Owner said he has a spur on one hock, but said she hasn’t had to have anything done. He also has a place by his right stifle that doesn’t bother him assuming he was born that way. The price reflects those imperfections. You’re welcome to come ride him and have a ppe done.
