Y’ALL… it is HOTTT and DRYYYYY out here 🏜️🥵 and the hottest months aren’t even here yet!!! But this heat is here to stay for awhile!!! The horses are definitely looking forward to the rain in the forecast! 🌧️

With all this dry weather, we are in desperate need of more hoof conditioner and once the rain hits, I’m sure we’ll be battling some thrush too 😅

AND to top it all off… our pitchfork officially took a 💩 this week 💀😂

If anyone is able to donate hoof conditioner, thrush treatment, or even a new pitchfork, we would be beyond grateful! ❤️

Have you ever seen a horse help another horse through grief after losing their lifetime companion? ❤️💔

Our boy Trouble is currently staying with a neighborhood friend of ours as a companion for her senior horse, Smokey. Smokey is 36 years old!!! 36!!!!!! Last week, he lost his lifetime companion and best friend, an appy named Candy. Since then, Smoke has been grieving hard 💔

Today, I went to switch the boys- one from the stall to the pasture and the other from the pasture to the stall. As soon as Smokey walked out, for the second day in a row he went straight to where Candy is buried. He smelled the ground and then slowly laid down on the same spot she’s buried. He stayed there for several minutes, so I decided to let Trouble out with him just to see what he would do.

Trouble quietly and calmly circled Smokey a few times and gently nudged him to get up. Smokey stood up and walked straight over to the same tree he’s been standing under ever since Candy passed. Once again, Trouble circled him and nudged him gently… and then the two of them walked off together ❤️

It was one of the saddest, yet most beautiful things I’ve ever witnessed! Animals feel grief, love, and loss so much deeper than most people realize!

After a Magnawave session with ZERO pain spots and a long chat with the vet… Old man CLYDE IS OFFICIALLY OUT OF RETIREMENT! ❤️ not to say we’ll be doing miles and miles on him all the time but he definitely was loving life!

The power of natural remedies, lots of TLC, and one tough old boy! Man he is amazing!!!! 🐴🔥

Safe to say, a TIME was definitely had! 🤣

Nothing like dragging the pasture in something that’s supposed to be hauling snacks and my herd of children 🙄🚜 BUT it got the job done! 🤣 this is why I can’t have nice things! Don’t tell my husband 😅

Let’s be honest- I’m absolutely terrible at remembering to whip my phone out and take pictures😅😅😅

BUT today we had our amazing farrier out to do ALLLLL the horses. Yes, every hoof, every attitude, every “I don’t feel like cooperating today.”
Kody is basically a saint with a rasp. From feral mustangs to our sweet old seniors (and the drama queens in between), he takes his time and gets everyone’s hooves “on FLEEK”!💅🐴

Tomorrow, Miss Sally and a few of our golden oldies are getting some much-needed MagnaWave therapy-spa day, but make it farm style! And next week the dentist will be back out to do her teeth!
