Pugsley ♥️ He was supposed to be a TNR, but here we are… 🤣😂 And of course, his sister Wednesday too! 🖤🐾

Also! Today was drag day! 🤣 Best 5 seconds of my entire week when there’s NO 💩! 🙌🏼😂

I was asked today why I can’t keep a HEALTHY horse here at the rescue. It’s a simple question, but the answer is a little more complex.

My heart breaks every time one of our horses gets adopted. It’s so bittersweet. I want to keep them all! I never want any of them to leave. ❤️ But the reality is, we are not a sanctuary, and we are not horse hoarders.

Our healthy horses (with the exception of our lifers) are adopted or leased so we can continue making room for the next horse or donkey that needs us.

And those adoption fees? They hit the bank account and leave just as quickly. 😂 EVERY. SINGLE. PENNY. goes right back into these animals. Hay, feed, vet care, dental care, hoof care, medications, supplies, and everything else it takes to keep them healthy and happy.

If we kept every single horse or donkey that came through our gates, we would quickly reach a point where we couldn’t help anyone else. We’d run out of room, resources, and the ability to take in the next animal that desperately needs help.

As much as I’d love to have a hundred horses running around here, that wouldn’t be fair to them or to the ones still out there waiting for their second chance.

Rescue isn’t about how many animals you can keep. It’s about how many lives you can change. Sometimes, the best thing we can do for a horse is find them a loving home where they can thrive, so we can open our gates and help another one. And trust me- I vet the hell out of every single adopter and a strict contract is signed.

Trust me, letting them go never gets easier. But knowing they’re loved, cared for, and living their best lives makes it worth it every single time. And it means there’s room for another one who needs a second chance. 🐴❤️

That’s why we do what we do. ❤️

A HUGE thank you to everyone who came by our booth yesterday to say hi! ❤️ We saw lots of familiar faces and got to meet lots of new ones, too!

Between donations and shirt sales, we raised almost enough to cover the farrier bill for this upcoming week! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Every little bit helps keep these babies taken care of, and we appreciate y’all more than you know! 🐴❤️

We are NOT okay but the horses are!😅 Mud and water EVERYWHERE. I’ve always wanted water front property, but not this kind! I’ve been stuck in the Gator more times than I can count today. Thanks to Colin or I’d still be stuck!

The ladies (and Trouble) are wet, but Gen pop is still in decent shape for now. The boys have been moved to higher ground, which means panels had to be moved too. Stall mats are next to move to ensure everyone has some dry spots. Farm chores have been fun this week- Some spots in the yard I’m literally mid-calf deep in mud. 🫠

Send loads of sand. 🤣
Send help. 🤣
Send a friggin’ BOAT at this point! 🚤😂

We are officially living up to the name! We are a SWAMP! 🐴🌧️🫠

Y’all, I’m HORRIBLE at this whole “posting every day” thing. 😅

On top of running our nonprofit 501(c)(3) rescue, we have 5 kids, different sports practices and games Monday–Saturday, homeschooling, events, and work.

WE. STAY. BUSY. 🤣

So here’s a picture for every day I’ve missed over the last few days. 😂

This past weekend, we did some pony rides at a local community event. Our boy did absolutely AMAZING, and the kids loved him! 🥰🐴

It was a free event, so we were honestly shocked when Mr. Simon handed us a donation at the end of the day. That was incredibly kind, and we truly appreciate you! ❤️

We may be a little behind on posting, but we promise we’re still out here doing the work! 😂🐴❤️

Watch closely to see Kerry Lynn Kelly with KLK PEMF Therapy work some magic last week with Miss Sally 😍😍😍

Sally definitely looks forward to her bi -weekly session! Always some much needed release! ❤️

Here’s one of those “good, bad, and ugly” posts 🤣

Our old 3-horse trailer that we use quite often is also our tack room and feed room. So what does that mean? Every time we need to haul anything, we have to unload the entire thing first. 😂

But honestly, this is just another reason I’m SO thankful for the next few events we have coming up AND a new local sponsor! Will be announcing who soon! We have an event/fundraiser every month through the end of the year!!! 🙌🏼

We are ready to start our BARN!!! 🥹❤️

Shelter. Stalls. Storage. And NO MORE LOADING AND UNLOADING THE HORSE TRAILER EVERY TIME WE NEED TO TRANSPORT A HORSE! 😂🙌🏼

We’re getting there, y’all! One fundraiser, one donation, and one CRAZY day at a time! 🐴❤️

Also- let this be y’all’s reminder to pull out those blankets! 😂 Wash ’em, check ’em, and make sure you have what you need NOW. There’s nothing worse than waiting until the last minute and realizing you need to find a blanket for your horse(s)!

And from the looks of it, we may be in for a COLD, WET winter. 😭🌧️🐴

So go dig those blankets out or place those orders before you’re scrambling at the last minute!
