Matt & Astral Update Today:
Astral did great tonight!! She was the only dog tonight. She went right into the field, which was native grass, and no leash needed. She had a track going and the pheasant jumped way ahead of us, out of gun range. I am so proud of her!!! She was on him. Still no birds shot! It is so annoying that they are staying in corn or deep in sunflower fields which is near impossible to get to.

So she’s doing great!! I’m so proud of them!! She’s making progress each day! So exciting!

Team Pfeiferstein is having a different type of working day!

In Minnesota, Zhara and Ignita spent the afternoon working on their sheep herding skills with a private lesson with Shantel in Foley!

Meanwhile, in North Dakota, Astral is with Matt on her first pheasant hunting trip! She’s doing excellent and building confidence with every new field she walks through, adjusting to the tall and challenging brush!

Our dogs all have a very fulfilling life, and are so dearly loved! They want for nothing! Each one gets the special attention they deserve and desire, while we work hard to make sure they have activities they enjoy! Having 7 dogs is not for the faint of heart, but it’s also something that’s completely manageable for us! The minis and old man Sterling spent the day at home catching up on nap time!! We love them all dearly!!!

Today we also ventured to an AKC agility trial!

Emry was a rockstar, and earned her Novice Jumping with Weaves title!! I’m so incredibly proud of her!! She’s come so far!!!

Ignita & Astral debuted with training in the ring, and did amazing! I’m so proud of them!!

Astral had her first real-life hunting experience with my husband at a Game Farm, and exceeded expectations!! She tracked, flushed, recalled, and was steady under fire! All the makings of a fabulous bird dog!! As she continues to understand the game, she’ll finish the puzzle by adding her retrieves! Overall, she did absolutely amazing and we are so proud of her!!

We had a busy weekend! Friday the girls had a nose work lesson. Saturday we drove 8 hours round trip for conformation, and Astral took Winners Bitch and Best of Breed, bringing her total towards her AKC Championship to 13 points with both Majors! Ignita has 11 points with both Majors! And then this morning we drove 3 hour round trip for a 2 hour sheep herding lesson!

It was Astrals first time, and she did fabulous! Zhara has come a long way with her stock engagement. And Ignita is learning all about self control around stock!

I’m super proud of them!

Zhara is in season! She came in 5.5 months from her last cycle. If she holds true to this, we will have a breeding in December and puppies by February with go home end of April 2027. A repeat of the same dates as the last litter but a different stud.

The stud has been picked. We’re going the route of frozen this time. Expecting an extremely athletic, hard working, driven litter who are not only conformationally correct with lovely temperaments and hard jackets but also easy going companions with off switches.

It will be a very exciting mix of lines and I look forward to seeing their future! The stud will be announced once pregnancy is confirmed in the winter.

If you would like to get on the waitlist for this all natural (ears, tails, dewclaws) American Bred litter, please fill out an application. We do not take deposits and rank picks based on what puppy temperaments are once they are evaluated. No puppy is promised, as the fit must be right for the puppy and the family.

A few weeks ago we decided it was time to start a dog yard clean up service at home. With 7, sometimes 8, dogs it gets to be a bit much. We looked into SEVERAL companies and decided on Yard Fresh Minnesota. It’s completely locally owned and operated by a local family in Burnsville. The owner is the one that comes to our yard. We would pick up once every 1-2 weeks, but they’re coming 3 times a week and it’s glorious!! The first visit Erick spent 2 hours cleaning. Erick is meticulous about his job, and I truly appreciate it! I couldn’t recommend them more! They service a large area on the east metro, including Hastings and give you 20% off your first month. Check them out!

Professional pet waste removal in the Twin Cities metro. Weekly, bi-weekly, and one-time yard cleanup in Lakeville, Eagan, Bloomington, Edina & Woodbury.
