URGENT: DAVEY NEEDS A FOSTER ,
COULD YOU BE HIS SAFE PLACE?
Davey is a 6-year-old Husky mix who doesn’t need a house full of people.
He needs one or two people who will become his world.
Davey is made for the active empty nester or adult couple who still loves morning walks, weekend hikes and exploring the outdoors, but also appreciates quiet evenings, a good movie and a loyal dog curled up nearby.
And loyal is exactly what Davey is.
When he lets you into his heart, you become his pack. He bonds deeply and can be protective of the people he loves, so Davey needs experienced adults who can give him calm leadership, consistency and the security of knowing he is safe.
Young children are simply too stressful for him, so Davey needs an adult-only home where life is quieter and more predictable.
He also has that wonderful Husky zest for life! Squirrels and bunnies? Davey is ready for the chase. A securely fenced yard would be wonderful, along with people active enough to give him the exercise and adventures he needs.
But right now, more than anything, Davey needs out of the shelter and into a foster home.
He needs a couch instead of a kennel.
A trail instead of shelter walls.
A person waiting for him at the end of the leash.
You don't have to promise Davey forever to change his life.
You can simply give him a place to breathe, decompress and feel like someone's dog again.

MEEKASCH & THE QUEST FOR HIS HAPPILY-EVER-AFTER
Once upon a time, not so far away, there wandered a handsome black-and-white gentleman named Meekasch.
At about two years old, he has magnificent whiskers, soulful eyes, and the distinguished look of a cat who clearly belongs on a velvet cushion beside a royal throne.
But Meekasch’s tale did not begin in a castle.
He was found hungry, alone, and terribly thin, wandering through a chapter no cat should ever have to endure. Whatever adventures came before remain his secret.
Then, as in every great fairytale, kindness changed everything.
A compassionate stranger brought Meekasch to Animal Ark, where warm blankets replaced cold nights, full bowls replaced hunger, and gentle hands began teaching him that the world could be good again.
Day by day, our brave little hero is growing stronger.
Meekasch may not wear feathered boots or carry a tiny sword, but beneath that handsome tuxedo coat beats the heart of a true storybook hero. He can be cautious at first, but once his trust is earned, he reveals his greatest treasure: a deeply affectionate, loyal heart.
Because his past is unknown, Meekasch dreams of a quiet, adult-only kingdom where patience and love rule the land.
His greatest quest?

Happy Adoption Day, Cookie!

Cookie has always had the sweetest demeanor; gentle, affectionate, and eager for human companionship. But despite her best efforts, living with other cats simply wasn’t the right fit for her. She tried twice, and each time her heart made it clear: she wanted a home where she could be the one and only.

Today, we are thrilled to share that Cookie has finally found her perfect match. She’ll never again have to worry about sharing her space with other felines. She gets exactly what she’s always dreamed of: a quiet, loving home all to herself.

PAUL , A LITTLE POET LOOKING FOR HIS NEXT VERSE
My name is Paul, after the great poet Paul Laurence Dunbar, and perhaps it is fitting, because my life feels like a poem still waiting for its final stanza.
I’m a one-year-old tan and white tabby boy who appeared one day in a neighborhood with no home to return to, no familiar voice calling my name. Where I came from remains unwritten.
But here is what Animal Ark has learned about me:
I am gentle.
I am tender.
I am the kind of cat whose love arrives quietly, like morning light slipping through a window.
I don’t demand much from the world. A soft place to rest. A patient hand. A voice that tells me I belong. Give me those things, and I will answer in the language I know best: a peaceful presence, quiet affection, and a heart slowly unfolding beside you.
Dogs, children, other cats? Those chapters haven’t been written yet. With thoughtful, gradual introductions, we can discover them together.
For now, I have warm blankets, full bowls, and kind hands at Animal Ark. I am safe here.
But safety is not the same as home.
Somewhere, I believe, there is a window meant for me to watch the seasons change. A favorite chair beside someone I love. A room where I no longer wonder where I belong.

Dearest Gentle Reader… A Most Scandalous Bachelor Has Arrived at Animal Ark
The ton is positively buzzing.
A gentleman of compact stature, impeccable wrinkles, and absolutely unwavering opinions has entered the adoption season.
His name?
Cody.
Six years of age. French Bulldog by birth. Bachelor by circumstance. Ruler of households by personal conviction.
And dear reader… he is looking for love.
Cody spent his entire life devoted to one family. But as children arrived and the household became increasingly bustling, our distinguished gentleman came to a rather firm conclusion:
He was not born to share center stage.
Cody prefers an intimate household. A devoted companion. Someone who understands that a gentleman of his importance requires appropriate attention, comfortable accommodations, and perhaps the occasional surrender of the best seat in the house.
Is he stubborn?
Terribly.
Does he have opinions?
On nearly everything.
Does he occasionally believe he should be consulted before important household decisions are made?
Naturally.
But beneath that formidable little Frenchie exterior is a dog who has lost the only home he has ever known and is waiting for someone willing to choose him again.
Cody is searching for a confident, experienced adult home without children. He has never lived with other animals, and his enthusiasm around dogs can be rather… intense. For now, this bachelor would prefer to be your one and only, though carefully managed introductions could tell us more in the future.
His ideal match will not be searching for a quiet little wallflower.

Cody is the gentleman who enters the drawing room as though he owns the estate.
He will make you laugh.
He will make you negotiate.
He will communicate his displeasure with a single devastating Frenchie expression.

Merlot , A Vintage Worth Waiting For
Some souls are like fine w**e.
They aren’t meant to be rushed. They need time, stillness, and the right place to breathe before their true beauty begins to unfold.
Merlot is 7 years old, a beautiful black cat who once lived on the wild side, running loose outside Animal Ark and surviving the cold on her own. When she was finally brought safely inside, she traded the uncertainty of outdoor life for something entirely new: warmth, shelter, and the possibility of home.
But Merlot is a delicate vintage.
She is timid and shy, and the busy rhythms of shelter life can be overwhelming. She isn’t the cat who will rush forward demanding attention. She watches. She waits. She needs to know she is safe before she can begin to let down her guard.
Merlot is searching for a quiet, child-free home with someone who understands that the most meaningful relationships sometimes begin slowly.
Give her space.
Give her patience.
Let her breathe.

Freya first came to Animal Ark as a puppy, and now she has unexpectedly found herself back with us as a young adult. She’s still the same affectionate, social girl we remember, only now she’s grown into all that classic Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd energy and intelligence.
Freya isn’t looking for a couch-only lifestyle. She wants a person who thinks training is fun, walks are never quite long enough, and a smart dog with a busy brain is a gift, not a problem.
Give this girl structure, exercise, engagement and something to learn, and Freya is ready to give you her whole heart.
Sweet, affectionate and people-oriented
Social and does well with other dogs
Intelligent, energetic and eager to engage
Has met children in public and handled those interactions nicely

EVEREST: A MOUNTAIN OF LOVE WAITING TO BE FOUND
My name is Everest, a 4-year-old brown tabby girl with soft eyes, a quiet spirit, and a story that feels a little like a fairy tale written in snow.
I was found wandering outside, carrying the marks of a hard winter. The cold took the tips of both my ears, leaving me with a tiny “winter crown” that makes me wonderfully, unmistakably me.
For two months, a kind woman gave me shelter in her garage. She offered food, warmth, soft words, and patience. Slowly, I remembered that the world could be gentle.
I’m still shy at first, but there is magic in watching me unfold. Speak softly and I come closer. Offer your hand and I lean into it. Give me time, and you’ll discover the playful, affectionate soul hidden beneath my cautious exterior.
My past with dogs, cats, and children is unknown, but I would thrive in a quiet home, perhaps with respectful older children, where I can feel safe and unhurried.
I don’t need a grand adventure anymore.
