We boast years of dog care experience set on a lovely 10 acres. We offer lots of individual attention, playtime, treats and love! In order to be fair and devoted to our guests, we rarely make the exception of taking more than 3 dogs on any given date. We limit our house guests to three because they are just that, house guests! They spend ample time inside our home with us and aren't introduced to crating or kenneling unless they feel more accustomed to, and secure with that setting. We do have two interior, 15 foot by 25 foot heated kennels with beds, rubber mat flooring, dog safe toys, music and a constant supply of water. These areas are most often reserved for applicable pups to afford them a change of venue and to provide a place of "quiet time".
Given the fact that we limit the number of pups we take in, available accommodations fill up quickly. A few of our reservation requests extend several months from now. We suggest that guests plan on reserving space with us early whenever possible. Any visiting dog should be up to date on vaccinations for your pup's protection and for the well being of other dogs for which we're responsible.
Aggressiveness and compatibility are assessed through our "meet & greet" process. The meet & greet typically concludes in less than one half an hour. This brief interview affords time for dog owners to get to know the prospective hosts for their pup and will hopefully, bring about confidence that their extended family member will be appropriately cared for. This interactive time also helps your pup to bond with those involved in this new home setting. Usually, we have one or more visiting pups that are interested in socialization with other pups. If amenable to all parties involved, we can introduce any visiting dogs, one at a time in our neutral outdoor setting. A skilled eye on behavior patterns can quickly determine compatibility issues before there's ever a problem. Sometimes, a guest dog just isn't interested in other pups and prefers only the company of the two-legged variety of companionship......(me). We absolutely accommodate the social preference of any pup and to the wishes of his/her owner. We'll all be able to evaluate and make decisions as to the best course for your dog's potential visit with us at that time.
Please know that although the setting comprises ten acres, we do not have a fenced-in area other than by a stone wall. Unless we're comfortable to let them run free, but always supervised, all newcomers start on a 30 or 50 foot leash. This gives them ample room to roam and explore with a wide radius.
