Franny Officer Tim and Officer Fawne had the distinguished opportunity to lead our Harvard Olympians to the Special Olympic Events held in Littleton yesterday. The weather was perfect and the kids couldn’t have been happier. They all worked hard and earned their medals and got to spend some time with the area comfort dog squad.

Have you ever thought about bringing a comfort/therapy dog into your workplace…
or found yourself thinking—you’d be the perfect handler?

We hear this often—and we love seeing that level of interest and initiative.

One thing we’ve learned over time, though, is that the most successful programs don’t start with the individual—they start with the program itself.

While many initial inquiries come from people who feel called to the role, our process is built a little differently:

We begin at the department or facility level, where leadership and structure are established first—
and then a handler is identified and thoughtfully considered within that framework.

From there, we connect directly to ensure alignment between:
• the role the dog will serve
• the environment they’ll be working in
• and the handler’s day-to-day approach

Not every great employee is automatically the right fit for this role—and not every role fits every person. That’s not a limitation—it’s what allows these programs to truly succeed.

If you’re interested in bringing a program to your facility, we’re always happy to help guide those first conversations.

Over winter break Officer Tim attended a three day class to obtain his Advanced SRO Certificate. This class was held at the Foxborough Police department and attended by approximately 52 other officers from the commonwealth and other states. This class focused on the job of the SRO and how to better serve in this capacity. There were a lot of discussions and breakout groups. The class even got to take a trip to Gillette for a group photo. This week Officer Tim and Franny are attending their yearly Inservice training for their legal updates as well as other informative classes for policing in the Commonwealth.

Check out Franny’s custom merch - sweatshirts, tees, knit caps, and buttons - available for purchase to support her care. She’s a town asset, but relies on donations and Officer Tim’s help. Thank you to those that have already purchased some gear!
