🐾❤️ Harley Quinn for the win & a whole weekend of finding forever homes! ❤️🐾

Hart County Humane Society will be at Anderson PetSmart this Saturday and Sunday, October 24–25, for PetSmart’s National Adoption Weekend! 🎉

Our very own Harley Quinn will be joining us on Saturday, along with a couple of adoptable dogs from Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter, our local shelter serving Hart and Franklin counties! Come meet some wonderful dogs and help them find the families they deserve! 🏡🐶

Meet Harley Quinn, a beautiful 1-year-old girl with a sweet nature and so much potential! Our best guess is that she’s a Great Pyrenees/Spaniel/Lab mix— but whatever her family tree, she’s a whole lot of wonderful. 🥰

Harley Quinn loves kids, cats, and most other dogs! She rides beautifully in the car, is leash trained and crate trained, and is ready to be someone’s adventure buddy and beloved family member.

🐱 More of a cat person? Our adoptable cats are at Anderson PetSmart every day during the store’s open hours, ready to meet you!

Please come out, see us, and spend some time with these deserving animals. Your next best friend could be waiting! ❤️🐾

Meet ETHEL 🥺

If you’ve been to the sanctuary in the last few months, you may have seen Ethel… although Ethel probably didn’t see you! 🐾💕

This sweet young adult female survived being hit by a car, suffering severe brain trauma and devastating injuries to her tail and one of her back legs. Thanks to our wonderful veterinary team, her leg was saved, but her tail had to be amputated. ❤️‍🩹

Ethel also lost most of her vision. We don’t believe she is completely blind, but we suspect she can see little more than shadows in the light. Her pupils stay dilated, giving her those big, wide-eyed expressions you may have noticed!

One thing about Ethel is VERY clear: this girl LOVES affection! She would happily choose gentle pets over snacks, and if you know cats, you know that’s saying something! 🥹💕

She has been through so much, but she still welcomes loving hands and kindness. 💗 Next time you visit our Sanctuary, ask about Ethel!! She hangs out in the lobby with a window view so she can enjoy the sunshine! She would love for you to come say hi! 🌞

Speak softly to let her know you’re there, let her sniff your hand, and give this precious girl a little extra love. She may not see you clearly, but she can certainly enjoy your company! 🐈💗

🐾💵 It’s $5 Friday! Small donations help make a BIG difference for local pets!

Last year alone, Hart County Humane Society helped support the spay/neuter of OVER 1,400 cats and dogs through our public Spay/Neuter Certificate Program! ❤️

Did you know? Hart & Franklin County residents pay just $40 per cat or $75 per dog for a certificate— but that doesn’t cover the full cost of surgery. Behind the scenes, HCHS pays the rest of each bill!

We are grateful to help keep this essential care affordable for our community. But as the program grows, so do the costs we cover— and our all-volunteer rescue needs your help to keep it going.

☀️ On this beautiful Friday, could you spare just $5? Twenty people giving $5 each would raise $100 to help cover those bills and keep this lifesaving program available to local families.

Happy Thursday from our little Potion! 🖤🐾 This tiny girl is here to cast a spell on your heart— and add a little kitten chaos to your day! ✨

Potion was just a 2 week old bottle baby when a good Samaritan found her in the middle of the road, scooped her up, and brought her to safety with us. She so narrowly avoided disaster, and for that, we are so grateful to our community members for always stepping up! Now she’s busy playing, growing, and enjoying life in her foster home!! 🥰

Watching her bounce around without a worry is a sweet reminder of what that one act of kindness made possible. Enjoy a little dose of Potion’s magic today! 🐈‍⬛💜

Wow, check out these amazing adoptable kitties! All are spayed or neutered, micro chipped, feline leukemia/FIV negative, appropriately vaccinated and treated for parasites. The healthy, affectionate kitties are available to inside always homes where they will not be declawed. Thanks to PetSmart and PetSmart Charities adopters receive a valuable book of generous discount coupons towards supplies and services to help bring your new friend home. Each kitty will go home with its own blankie to help with the adjustment to their new environment thanks to Comfort for Critters. 🐾 Meet Rocky, Hart County Humane Society’s Pet of the Week— and our 8,000th rescue animal! 🎉

This handsome young adult grey-and-white boy holds a special place in our hearts. Since our founding over 20 years ago, 8,000 animals have been given a second chance— and now it’s Rocky’s turn to find a forever family! ❤️

Rocky was rescued from a feral cat colony, and his tipped ear is part of his story. Once we realized just how sweet and friendly he is, we knew this lovable boy deserved a home of his own. He’s ready to trade colony life for cozy naps, gentle pets, and people who love him!

Rocky is vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. He is currently waiting at Anderson PetSmart for a wonderful family of his own. Stop by and meet this special boy— you might just meet your new best friend! 🏡
