Greyhound Rescue & Rehab

Pulled out of Tri State around 9:15 this morning with 7 hounds on board. Yes, a tad crowded with 5 big males and 2 females but they made it work with help from the best wrangler going Katrina.
Got home right around 7 after making 2 stops dropping off various hounds.
As always, my upmost respect for the trainers, handlers, helpers who put in hugely long days, 7 days a week caring for these spectacular athletes and in the end, making sure they get to good adoption groups who work hard to find the right home for each and every one.

Meet Drew — Your Future Co-Pilot! 🚗💨
Two-year-old Drew is interviewing for his forever family, and this handsome boy is checking all the right boxes including being good with cats!
His foster mom says he’s a very good boy who sleeps through the night and gets along beautifully with his Greyhound and Galgo foster siblings. He loves toys, takes correction well, and is learning all about pet life.
Drew also has great manners—he respects other dogs’ food bowls and listens when told “NO.” He’s still working on house training, but stays clean overnight and can go several hours in his x-pen. A quick potty break after meals seems to do the trick!
Drew would love a home with at least one other Greyhound and humans who are home more than they’re away. He’s not a fan of long car rides, although he apparently prefers being the driver rather than the passenger! 😂
Sweet, playful, and eager to learn, Drew is ready to find his forever family. Could you be his co-pilot?

Greyhound Rescue & Rehab (GRR) is always here to help a hound in need. Meet Sandy, a beautiful 2-year-old girl who got a little too excited doing what she loves most—RUNNING! Unfortunately, all that enthusiasm resulted in a knee injury, and Sandy needed our help. Our medical fund needs a boost so we are running an auction on Facebook. While we know there are many greyhounds across the pond waiting for homes, there are also plenty of wonderful American greyhounds right here in the U.S. who need us. That’s where our heart and our focus remain: helping the hounds here at home. Do you have any items to donate? Could be household, hound, cat or basically anything! Email photos to [email protected] with a description (sizes are important), whether you or the winner pay for shipping and what you think a good starting price will be.

Foster families are the heart of Greyhound Rescue & Rehab.
They provide a safe, loving home while retired racing greyhounds prepare for adoption. GRR supplies everything needed, including food, and offers support every step of the way. Together, we're giving America's retired racing greyhounds the second chance they deserve. Can you open your heart to a newly retired racer? New dogs are coming July 26, August 23 and Sept 23.

Sometimes a greyhound appears for only a single moment.

A few lines are enough for Paul Adam to place it within the elegant world of the Belle Époque, where its presence becomes a quiet symbol of refinement and distinction.

In 'The Quiet Before the Run', even the briefest literary appearances reveal how deeply the greyhound has been woven into the cultural imagination of Europe.
