Question for dog owners! 🐾

When you board your dogs, what is the norm at other kennels? Do you typically prepay, pay at pickup, or leave a deposit when making your reservation?

At Kozy Kennelz, I've always allowed customers to choose whether they wanted to prepay or pay when they picked up their dogs, and I've never required a deposit to reserve a spot.

Unfortunately, after dealing with an increasing number of last-minute cancellations, changes of plans, and people who don't show up, I'm seriously considering changing that policy.

I'm thinking about requiring a non-refundable deposit to hold your reservation, with the remaining balance due at pickup.

For those of you who use boarding facilities, what do you think? Is requiring a deposit fair? What does your kennel currently require?

I'd really appreciate hearing from both dog owners and other kennel owners! 🐶❤️
