Clinic yard sale is tomorrow from 9-1 💥📣

Planning to use the bottom lot for it. If everyone who is shopping can try to park across the road where the funeral home (if not in use ) or the lot across from us.

Another behind the scenes POV of one of our surgery patients (this is the same sweet girl we recently posted about 🥹)

Once the pet is checked in and been seen by the doctor, we begin by sedating them with their specific protocol. Once sedated, they will be intubated and fully anesthetized. Then, the surgical area will be clipped and cleaned.

Once moved into surgery the patient will be hooked up to monitors so we can verify their vitals throughout surgery. This patient received the laser so it is shown below starting the incision. After closure, the patient is taken off of anesthesia and safely placed in a blanket to keep them warm until extubation and recovery ❤️

This sweet gal came in for her post-heartworm treatment checkup ❤️🪱

We are so grateful her owners opted for the immiticide treatment which results in the best outcomes for these patients. She stayed with us for a few days and received her injections and has been doing great since !

We will see her back in a few months to recheck her heartworm test 🫶

“ I have worked as a Veterinary Technician/Receptionist at Russell Veterinary Services since 2007. I received my degree from Lincoln Memorial University and have worked in the veterinary field for twenty-five years. I utilize my technical skills to support our veterinarians and advocate for our patients’ health by providing compassionate care. I have five dogs: Mossy, RJ, Panda, Buddy, and Molly, and also horses and cattle. I enjoy spending time with family, gardening, and canning”

Did you guys know we can do Barium swallow studies ??? 😱🤯

This patients owner came to us concerned for a possible foreign body. They opted to do this procedure rather than going straight into surgery to find the potential object. We do this by giving the liquid orally and then do a series of radiographs throughout the day to see how it moves through the body.

We can check for blockages, tears, or strictures in the intestines without having to cut open! Fortunately this sweet girls results showed no major problems and she was able to go home later that day 🤍

We had to gown her up to prevent a mess 🥹
