Meet Maverick! He is here in training currently to work on regaining confidence and a fresh restart on groundwork and riding. Maverick hasn’t had the easiest start to life and it seems as though he’s been passed around and lost confidence in humans. Riding especially makes him nervous and has gotten into the habit of blowing up as soon as anyone mounts. He saw the farrier, dentist, and vet this week, so that he is set up for success and feeling extra healthy for the work that is cut out for us. We will also be working on putting some extra weight on him while he is here, as his family just purchased him and he could use some groceries. We are going to take it slow and steady with this one, so that he can regain confidence!

We are thrilled to have miss Pepsi here to continue her education and fitness! 💪🏻 Pepsi is a sweet mare that already has a great foundation and is used as a trail mount for her mom and a ranch mount for a 4-h kiddo. She is here to get fit for the season and to further her education in her lope! 🤩💗

Did you know that I offer sheath and udder cleaning?? Get your horse scheduled today to get them feeling like their best selves! 🥰

What is sheath cleaning?

Sheath cleaning is a process of gently cleansing the male horse of sm**ma, dirt, and debris.

What are the benefits of sheath cleaning?

- Prevents discomfort and irritation
- Removes beans that can obstruct the urethra making it difficult to urinate
- Opportunity to detect any abnormalities such as bumps or sores that should be seen by a vet

How often does my gelding or stallion need cleaned?

It depends on your horse! If it’s a stallion that’s being used for breeding they will need to be cleaned more frequently for sanitary purposes. The typical gelding gets cleaned usually every six months to a year.

What causes sm**ma and bean formation?

Sm**ma is a combination of dead skin cells and debris. Horses that shuffle their feet or horses that kick a lot of dust/dirt up tend to be dirtier as it can get kicked up into the sheath. A bean is a hardened ball of sm**ma.

Emerson is definitely the toughest six year old cowgirl that I’ve ever met! It seems like there is always cruddy weather on her lesson day, but she is incredibly dedicated and wants to ride anyway! She has been making huge improvements in her riding and trying hard to figure everything out. Not only is she doing great in her riding, but she has great horsemanship and is always eager to take the best care of Jedi when she’s done riding. He especially appreciates it when he’s “paid in cookies”. ❤️
