🐴 Now Offering Equine Joint Injections!

We are proud to announce that Dr. Jones is now offering equine joint injections as part of our expanding services for equine patients!

Joint pain and discomfort can affect a horse’s mobility, performance, and overall quality of life. Dr. Jones and Bailey, one of our CVTs, will perform a thorough examination to assess your horse and determine whether joint injections may be an appropriate treatment option.

They’ll take the time to discuss:
• Common signs of pain or discomfort in horses
• Changes in movement, performance, or behavior that may indicate joint issues
• Whether this treatment may be appropriate for your horse
• Aftercare and what to expect following the injection

Our goal is to provide individualized, high-quality care focused on keeping your horse comfortable, mobile, and performing at their best. ❤️

📞 Interested in learning more or scheduling an appointment? Give us a call at 870-741-6030 to speak with our team and see if equine joint injections may be right for your horse!

We’re excited to continue expanding the services we can offer to our equine patients and their owners! 🐎

☀️ Heat Stroke in Dogs ☀️

As temperatures rise, so does the risk of heat stroke in our furry family members. Unlike people, dogs can’t cool themselves efficiently, making them especially vulnerable during hot weather.

🚗 Never leave your dog unattended in a vehicle. Even with the windows cracked, temperatures inside a parked car can reach dangerous levels within minutes.

💧 Always provide fresh, clean water and access to shade whenever your pet is outdoors.

🌡️ Limit outdoor activity during the hottest parts of the day. Early morning and late evening walks are much safer.

🐶 Take extra precautions with high-risk breeds, including:
• Flat-faced (brachycephalic) breeds like Bulldogs, Pugs, and Boston Terriers
• Double-coated breeds like Huskies, Golden Retrievers, and German Shepherds
• Senior pets, puppies, overweight pets, and those with underlying medical conditions

🔥 Know the signs of heat stroke:
• Excessive panting
• Bright red gums
• Drooling
• Weakness or collapse
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Confusion or difficulty walking

⚠️ Heat stroke is a medical emergency. If you suspect your pet is overheating, move them to a cool area, offer small amounts of cool (not ice-cold) water, and wet them with cool water while seeking immediate veterinary care.

A little extra caution can make all the difference. Stay cool, stay hydrated, and help keep your pets safe! ❤️🐾

🐄💉 Theileria Vaccine Now in Stock! 🚨

We are excited to announce that the Theileria vaccine is now available here at Harrison Animal Clinic and Harrison Animal Clinic at Leslie!

We now have a new weapon in the fight against Theileria, a disease with a major health and economical impact. It is recommended to booster the vaccine on 2-3 weeks in the initial vaccine series and then once yearly thereafter. We recommend for it to be given to all cattle over 6 weeks of age. We still recommend for good tick control to be applied to cattle, like Exolt or Cleanup 2. Like always, we have a large inventory available and can help you tailor a plan that fits your needs.

Our veterinary team is happy to answer any further questions you may have about Theileria prevention and herd health. Give us a call or stop by anytime with any questions or concerns.
