This is our first litter raised during the summer here on our very sandy property, and I have to say, these pups prefer the sand over pretty much anything! ๐Ÿ˜€

I think we officially have to name this our โ€œBeach Babies" Litter. ๐Ÿ–๏ธ๐Ÿพ

The reality of a 7-week-old litter ๐Ÿ˜‚

Notice half the pups are sleepingโ€ฆ and half are wide awake ๐Ÿคช

Gone are the days when everyone ate, played, and crashed at the same time!

Now theyโ€™re starting to settle into their own little rhythms... which means while some are napping, someone is ALWAYS awake. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Meanwhile, Iโ€™m doing laundry, talking with families, cleaning, training, feedingโ€ฆ basically just working around the pups all day.

Breeder is officially always ON DUTY. ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ˜‚

(except at night! Thank goodness these brown clowns sleep from 9:30 pm until 7 am daily and consistently!)

๐ŸฆŒ Farm-to-pup chew time! ๐Ÿพ

Nick harvested an extra deer this year just for the dogs, and tonight the pups got to try the meaty leg chews for the very first time. ๐Ÿฆด๐ŸฆŒ

These arenโ€™t just a tasty treat. Chewing on whole, meaty chews gives them a natural outlet for that puppy need to chew, works their jaws, provides enrichment, and lets them experience new tastes, smells and textures.

And judging by the videoโ€ฆ Iโ€™d say the venison was a hit. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐ŸฆŒ

Wellโ€ฆ todayโ€™s sound habituation was NOT on the schedule. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿชš

A giant oak tree came down today and missed our Airbnb guestโ€™s truck by literally about TWO INCHES. ๐Ÿ˜ณ Thankfully, everyone and everything is okay!

So while Nick is outside running the chainsaw and cleaning up the mess, the pups areโ€ฆ completely unbothered. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Some are sound asleep in the puppy pen, some are chewing bully sticks, and others are outside playing like nothing is happening.

7 weeks old and already learning that loud, unexpected noises are just part of life. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ
