How does it get this bad? 🥺
This little guy was found outside alone in terrible condition. The fleas.... there were so many fleas.
He is so very thin. Usually when we see animals come in this thin, it is an indicator of a bigger problem. He will need some major diagnostics to ensure what exactly is happening.
We don't have one open space.
We don't have one open foster.
We are drowning financially from the hoarding cases back to back to back.
How do you look away?
You don't.
You throw together a ferret cage and make a space at the medical sanctuary.
You fight through the fleas and worms.
You get him relief.
It may be a tiny space... but it is a safe space.
It is warm. It is clean. Free of bugs and full of fresh food, water and extra nutrients to nourish his fragile body.
We are thankful to have found him and to have the ability to give him a chance.
