National I Love Horses Day, July 15th, 2026

🐎🌍 HISTORY IS MADE TODAY — 11 JULY ❤️

The World Celebrates the First Official World Horse Day

Today isn’t just another date on the calendar.

11 July has become a historic day for millions of horse lovers around the world. For the very first time, the United Nations has officially recognized World Horse Day, honoring one of humanity’s oldest, most faithful companions. The observance follows a UN General Assembly resolution adopted in 2025, establishing 11 July as World Horse Day. (United Nations)

Long before engines, roads, and machines, horses carried our dreams. They helped build civilizations, worked our fields, stood beside soldiers, inspired champions, and brought hope to countless families.

A horse never asks who you are or what you own.

It only asks for your trust…
and gives you its heart in return. ❤️

On this historic day, let’s celebrate not only their beauty and strength but also our responsibility to protect them, care for them, and ensure future generations experience the same incredible bond.

🐴 Happy World Horse Day!

For years, horse slaughter in America has remained one of the most controversial issues in the equine world. While slaughterhouses are currently unable to operate on U.S. soil due to funding restrictions, thousands of American horses are still shipped across the border every year to Canada and Mexico for slaughter.

Now, lawmakers are once again pushing to change that forever.

A renewed federal bill seeks to permanently ban horse slaughter in the United States and make it illegal to export American horses for slaughter abroad — closing the loophole that animal welfare advocates say has allowed the practice to continue for decades.

Supporters of the bill argue that horses were never bred as food animals in the United States and deserve protection from the long-distance transport, stress, and suffering associated with the slaughter pipeline.

For many advocates, this is about more than legislation.
It is about dignity.
It is about responsibility.
And it is about finally ending a practice they believe should never have existed in the first place.

If passed, the bill could mark one of the biggest turning points yet in the fight to protect America’s horses. 🐴

These guys were too little to survive at the rooster barn and too cute for soup.
The story goes….
They missed the memo that they were supposed to date their own species and leave the other girls alone. 🫣🐓🦆

These fluffy little Romeos were far more interested in the ladies that were not theirs than the hens cared to tolerate… especially considering they already had a perfectly good rooster. 😂. I always watch my hens carefully to make sure they are not being harassed and these two had a favorite.. probably the slowest hen.. that didn’t like the attention. Even sporting her chicken saddle.. that protects their backs these two were relentless.

So off they went to start their new chapter:
✨ wide open space
✨ safe from predators
✨ fresh grass
✨ duck friends everywhere

And now they are out here looking like the Pied Pipers of ducks, leading the waddling fan club through the grass like he owns the place. Honestly… they seem pretty happy about it. 😆

Finding great homes is always a very happy experience. They may not think so today but by next week they will all be buddies.
Thank you so much to the kind woman that adopted them. May you get as many laughs as I have from their floppy head feathers.
