🐾💙 HAPPY VETERINARY TECHNICIAN WEEK! 💙🐾

Let’s hear it for the REAL MVPs of veterinary medicine! 🏆🐶🐱

Our veterinary technicians are the heart of our clinic! From comforting nervous patients with extra cuddles, to assisting with surgeries, collecting and running lab work, being dental hygeinists, and somehow managing to do 12 things at once… our techs do it ALL! 🩺🐾

They work hard, think fast, get covered in fur (and occasionally things we'd rather not talk about 😂), and show up every day with compassion, dedication, and so much love for the animals in their care.

At Blue Mountain Veterinary Care, we are incredibly lucky to have a team that works hard, supports one another, laughs together, and always puts our patients first. ❤️

To our amazing technicians: THANK YOU for everything you do, for the patients who can't say thank you themselves, and for the difference you make in the lives of the families who trust us with their beloved pets. You are appreciated more than you know! 🐾

Help us celebrate our incredible team this week! Drop a 💙 in the comments to show our veterinary technicians some love!

💟HAPPY VETERINARY TECHNICIAN WEEK💟
🐱Being a vet tech is so much more than a job. It's long, exhausting days, emotionally difficult moments, unpredictable situations, and carrying the weight of caring for animals who can't tell us what hurts. It's holding scared pets, comforting worried owners, cleaning up messes, assisting in emergencies, and sometimes having to say goodbye to the patients who have stolen a piece of your heart.

🐶 Vet techs give so much of themselves every single day. They put their hearts, hands, knowledge, and compassion into caring for animals, often while putting their own needs last. They do the hard, messy, heartbreaking, and behind-the-scenes work that many people never see. And far too often, their dedication, skill, and sacrifices go unrecognized.
This week is for the vet techs! We see you, we appreciate you & we thank you!🩷

Honoring the dogs of 9/11…

Every year around September 11th I can’t help but think of the unsung heroes in the aftermath of the twin towers collapsing, the dogs.

Over 300 dogs stood beside nearly 10,000 rescue workers at Ground Zero. They knew the job they had been trained for, and they did it with no hesitation…even in horrible conditions.

They climbed mountains of smoldering debris, burned their paws, cut their skin, and still they pressed forward tirelessly searching for life.

As the days passed and survivors became fewer, the dogs began to lose hope. Some showed signs of depression, believing they had failed. So their handlers did something creative and bold. They hid among the rubble, allowing the dogs to “find” them….restoring their purpose, and bringing back the wag of their tails, and it worked.

Through exhaustion, heartbreak, and danger, these four legged heroes carried light into the darkest days. They comforted the grieving. They gave hope to the hopeless. They gave love when the world was broken. Every year we honor the service dogs and humans of 9/11…forever heroes, forever remembered.

In this dark and sometimes scary world may we look to the dogs of 9/11 as a reminder to meet despair with courage, to answer heartbreak with love, to scale the mountains ahead of us one step at a time, and carry light even when the world feels heavy.
