Delmarva German Shepherd Dog Club We're a working dog club located northwest of Harrington, Delaware. We use scenario based protection training. Our club training is scenario based. certification.

The DGSDC offers training to help the owner better understand the genetic drives and behaviors of their pet. While we're listed as a German Shepherd club, we will work with other approved breeds and mixes if they come from working lines or working with some show. We offer: marker training, practical use obedience, K-9 personal protection training, the AKC-CGC and Trick Dog title/certificate training and testing, and the puppy S.T.A.R. When problems arise, we can help with many of those issues. Finding us is easy...We're located about two miles northwest of Harrington, Delaware, behind Callaway Furniture on Hopkins Cemetery Road.

A few things to remember...

Until we get a real hard FREEZE, ticks are still out there. Lyme's is nothing to mess around with...for you and the dog.

Fall and the woods means there will be HUNTERS some place out there. Not everyone is a safe and good hunter. For your safety either stay OUT or wear hunter orange mater. They make human and dog vest in orange.

Keep them leashed...squirrels can pop out, deer can get up from their bedding area, and quail can bust out right in front of you. And for the dog, it's PREY TIME and the chase is on!

You can either look away or look closer. Problems never fix themself!

How is the pet going to know what they do doing is OK with you if you stand around in silence? Develop a happy face, give them praise, and don't forget to give a little touch once in a while!

How do you get training success with a dog or puppy?

Teach them what we want (the outcome), keep the steps small and simple, dovetail the old work into the new, and do it without distractions.

Keep the lesson SHORT.
