🌎🐾 World Rabies Day — September 28 🐾🌎

Rabies is a deadly disease, but the good news is that it is preventable. ❤️

One of the most important ways you can protect your pets—and your family—is by keeping your pet’s rabies vaccination up to date. 💉🐶🐱

Rabies can be spread through the bite or scratch of an infected animal, and wildlife such as bats, raccoons, skunks, and foxes are common carriers in the United States.

🦇 Avoid contact with wildlife
💉 Keep your pets current on their rabies vaccines
🐾 Contact us if you're unsure when your pet is due
⚠️ Never handle wildlife that appears sick or is behaving unusually

This World Rabies Day, take a minute to check your pet’s vaccine records. A simple vaccination can help protect your pet, your family, and our community. ❤️

📞 Give Roane Veterinary Hospital a call if your pet is due for their rabies vaccine!

🎉🐶 National Dog Week: Friday Finale! 🐾❤️

We've spent the week celebrating some of our absolute favorite patients—DOGS! 🐶

To finish out National Dog Week, we want to know:

❤️ What's your favorite thing about your dog?

Maybe it's the way they greet you like you've been gone for 10 years when you only walked outside to check the mail. 😂

Maybe it's their snuggles, their goofy personality, their loyalty, or simply the way they're always there when you need them.

Whatever it is, dogs have a special way of making life a little better. 🐾❤️

📸 Show us the dog that makes your life better! Drop their picture and name in the comments.

✨ Photos shared may be featured in future Roane Veterinary Hospital Facebook posts, so keep an eye out—you might just see your pup on our page! 🐶🌟

❤️ Happy National Dog Week from all of us at Roane Veterinary Hospital!

🐾🐶 National Dog Week: Who REALLY Runs Your House? 🐶🐾

Be honest... we all know who's actually in charge. 😂

Does your dog:
🛏️ Take up 90% of the bed?
🛋️ Have their own spot on the couch?
🍗 Know exactly where the treats are kept?
👀 Give you the look until you do what they want?
🚪 Demand to go outside... only to immediately want back in?
😂 Have you completely trained to meet their every need?

👇 Tell us how your dog has YOU trained!

And of course, we need photographic evidence! 📸🐶

✨ Photos shared with us may be featured in future Roane Veterinary Hospital Facebook posts—your boss... we mean, your DOG 😂... could be our next Facebook star! 🌟

Every dog has their thing. 😂

Maybe yours...
🐾 Spins in circles when it's dinner time

👀 Stares at you until you share your food

We want to hear about yours!

👇 What's the funniest or weirdest thing your dog does?

Bonus points for photographic evidence. 😂📸

🐾❤️ National Pet Memorial Day ❤️🐾

Today is a day to remember the pets who may no longer be by our side, but will always hold a special place in our hearts.

There are many beautiful ways to honor a beloved pet after they pass. We are proud to work with Yeargan’s Pet Cremation Services, who provides compassionate aftercare and cremation services for our patients. They also offer memorial paw prints, giving families a special keepsake to hold onto for years to come. 🐾

Whether it’s an urn, a paw print, a favorite photo, or simply the memories you carry with you, there is no right or wrong way to remember a pet you loved. ❤️

On National Pet Memorial Day, we invite you to share a photo or memory of a special pet who has passed. Let’s fill the comments with the faces and stories of some very loved animals. 🐶🐱🐾

Gone from our lives, but never from our hearts. 🌈
