Astrid, the breaker of chains, the fighter with the will of a supernova, has decided life is worth living with friends.
Our girl is finally out of survival mode where everything is terrifying and dangerous. She has gained weight and is starting to slowly replace the muscle wasting that had happened when her body was starved for so long. With this shift she has finally warmed up to the DRD girl pack. Holly, our star socialite has bided her time these long weeks waiting patiently for Astrid to respond to her requests for play. Then suddenly one day Astrid woke up ready to play and she has never looked back. When it happened I held my breath, tears in my eyes listening to the glorious sounds of bitey face, both girls running out of our bedroom with swishy high tails bumping into each other like long lost best friends reunited.
Astrid is a dream dog.
She is gentle, quiet, down to go for a walk or hike or lay around the house rotting on the couch. She is house trained, crate trained, rides well in the car, has not been destructive or disruptive. She would be the perfect addition to any established pack or be your solo dog soaking up all of your attention. She is typical GSD and acts as a velcro to her person, if you are looking for a dog who is obsessed with you - look no further!
Astrid is ready to find her happily ever after. If you have been following her journey or just think she is the dog for you contact us today to learn more about our special survivor.
