October 9th one of the DRD crew members suffered an immense tragedy. Their family home and all of their belongings were lost in a devastating house fire. A that was built by their grandfather that held generational memories. Thankfully, everyone made it out safely, but they now face the challenge of starting over with basic needs and rebuilding. As we are no stranger to sudden acts of devastating loss as we sit on the 3rd eve of the tornado that caused the shut down of the business and loss of our personal home we know what it's like to have to ask for assistance. We are externally grateful for how our community came together to help us grieve, restore and rebuild bigger and better than ever. If you heard some high pitched squealing yesterday it was us welcoming Baker to the puppy training program here at DRD. This absolute cutie pie is here for the next few weeks to get some good learnin' in and boy are we already smitten! Welcome to camp Baker!

Everyone please welcome Astro to our training program! This handsome lug is a dog that is well loved and known around camp for the last year + boarding with us as a "Solo Dog". Astro here has a significant history of human and dog reactivity long pre-dating our services. Him and his owner have spent years working through his leash reactivity towards humans and developing excellent control and obedience skills but his dog reactivity still continued to be a stumbling block. Since working 1:1 with our trainer and learning about thresholds and working with arousal instead of against it Astro has seen improvement in his neutrality towards dogs in public. He is here to continue that work that has been started and see if under his rude social manners and bully-breed natural intensity whether there is a social dog waiting to be discovered. Reactivity isn't a life sentence and we are excited to work with him these next few weeks to give him the skills to navigate through the world and hopefully expand it just a bit more! Welcome Astro!

🌈🌈 Our hearts are broken to learn that Dirt Road Dogs camper Ziggy crossed the rainbow bridge. We are so sad to be left behind as they embark on this new adventure without us. Though we are grateful to get to spend a little bit of their wonderful life loving them. We love you Ziggy, explore on 🖤🐾

Everyone please give a big DRD welcome to our training program, Dakota!! This absolute cutie patootie is here to learn all the good and wonderful basics like how to respond enthusiastically to her name, sitting instead of jumping for attention, holding still for like 3 seconds and how to play while we learn! She is just adorable and so eager to soak up all the learnin' like a sponge. We are excited to hang and work with her! Welcome Dakota!!
