Hurricane season runs June–November, and a little planning now can make all the difference later. Here are a few key steps to protect your horse:

✔ Have an evacuation plan. Know where you’ll go and how you’ll get there. Identify safe facilities ahead of time.

✔ Prepare your trailer. Keep it in working condition with full tires, lights checked, and ready to go.

✔ Update ID & records. Make sure your horse has current photos, Coggins, and medical records in a waterproof container.

✔ Stock emergency supplies
Have at least 5–7 days of feed, water, medications, and first aid supplies.

✔ Secure your property
Remove loose items, check fencing, and identify the safest area for shelter.

✔ Stay informed
Monitor local updates and evacuation notices across South Carolina.

Warmer weather means grass is growing… and so are parasites. Spring is one of the most important times to get ahead of issues before they impact your horse’s health.

Here’s how to stay on track this season:

✔ Run f***ls before deworming. Targeted deworming = more effective treatment and less resistance.

✔ Rotate pastures when possible. Helps reduce parasite load and keeps grass healthier.

✔ Pick manure regularly. Simple but one of the most effective ways to break the parasite cycle.

✔ Check your herd’s deworming plan. Every horse is different—make sure yours is on the right schedule. A little prevention now goes a long way toward a healthy, happy spring season 🌿.
