🐾💙 Please Join Us in Welcoming Dr. Hinson to the NRVS Family! 💙🐾

We are so excited to welcome Dr. Hinson to the New River Veterinary Specialists team as one of our newest ER veterinarians! 🩺🐶🐱

Dr. Hinson grew up in the beautiful mountains of Asheville, North Carolina. She earned her undergraduate degree in Animal Science with a concentration in Veterinary Bioscience from North Carolina State University, before continuing on to the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine, where she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.

During veterinary school, Dr. Hinson discovered a passion for the fast-paced and ever-changing world of emergency medicine and knew it was where she wanted to begin her career. Her professional interests also include feline medicine, practicing Fear Free techniques to help create a calm and positive experience for her patients, and supporting pet parents during some of the most difficult moments they may face. ❤️‍🩹

When she’s not at the hospital, Dr. Hinson enjoys exploring the local beaches, spending time with her husband, and cooking from scratch. She’s currently trying her hand at sourdough bread and hopes to start a garden in the near future! 🌱🥖

Of course, her home wouldn’t be complete without her own four rescued fur-babies:
🐕 Moose – a shy but incredibly loyal Shepherd mix
🐕 Lyla – a cuddly Dalmatian/Great Dane mix
🐈 Paddington – a fluffy tuxedo cat who firmly believes he’s actually a dog
🐈 Marcella – a spicy, fluffy orange kitty who takes her role as “Queen” very seriously! 👑

Dr. Hinson believes that pets are family, and she cannot wait to meet yours! 💙

🎉 Please Join Us in Welcoming Dr. Bazarnik to the NRVS Family! 🐾💙

We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Bazarnik, our newest ER veterinarian, to the New River Veterinary Specialists team! 🩺🐶🐱

Originally from New Jersey, Dr. Bazarnik relocated to Central New York during high school. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a concentration in Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior from Binghamton University while working as a veterinary assistant in small animal general practice. She went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts and completed her clinical rotations at Purdue University Veterinary Teaching Hospital in West Lafayette, Indiana.

Dr. Bazarnik spent the next eight years practicing in Indiana at a walk-in small animal hospital, where she cared for patients ranging from routine wellness visits to urgent and emergency cases. ❤️‍🩹

Emergency medicine quickly became her passion because every shift brings a new challenge and an opportunity to make a meaningful difference. She finds tremendous fulfillment in helping critically ill and injured patients recover and return home to the families who love them.

At NRVS, Dr. Bazarnik is excited to collaborate with our incredible team across multiple areas of veterinary medicine to provide exceptional care to our patients. She is also passionate about building strong relationships with pet owners through open, compassionate communication and making sure families understand their pet’s condition and treatment plan every step of the way. 💙

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Bazarnik enjoys spending time with her husband, their two young children, and their four-legged family members: Wiley, a three-legged Husky, and three cats; Willie, Izzy, and Liam! 🐾

The charm and year-round beauty of the Lowcountry inspired the Bazarnik family to make the move, and they are excited to officially call the area home! 🌴☀️

🤩 Please join us in welcoming Dr. Molly Wart to the New River Family!

Dr. Molly Wart graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2022. She completed a one-year emergency and critical care-focused rotating internship at the University of Georgia, followed by a three-year emergency and critical care residency at Texas A&M University. Dr. Wart is passionate about practicing compassionate, evidence-based care. Her clinical interests include sepsis, transfusion medicine, traumatic brain injuries, and clinical teaching. Outside of work, Dr. Wart enjoys sailing, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Molly Wart will be starting at our Hardeeville location in October, joining our critical care team with continued growth for our Pooler location.

🐾At our hospital, we strive to be different from the traditional emergency and specialty model. Thanks to the continued support of our community and our ongoing growth. 🐾

We have chosen to reinvest in the community by trying to make veterinary emergency and specialty medicine more accessible. As part of that commitment, we have reduced pricing on a number of services to help owners provide the best possible care and quality of life for their pets.

We understand that costs are rising for everyone, and we are experiencing many of those same increases ourselves. Even so, we believe it is important to give back to the community that has supported us and to do what we can to help more pets receive the care they need.

We hope this demonstrates our commitment to the families and animals we serve. While emergency and specialty care will always be more costly than general practice due to the nature of the services provided, we remain dedicated to finding ways to support our community and improve access to high-quality veterinary care.

Today we honor the life and service of K-9 Niko, a loyal partner, protector, and true member of the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office family.

Our hearts are with Sgt. Sean Toomey as he says goodbye to a partner who stood beside him through countless hours of training, service, and sacrifice. The bond between a handler and a K-9 is unlike any other built on unwavering trust, loyalty, and courage.

Niko dedicated his life to protecting our community, and his legacy will live on in the lives he touched and the people he helped keep safe. While his watch has come to an end, his impact will never be forgotten.

Thank you, Niko, for your faithful service. Rest easy, knowing your job was done with honor.

To Sgt. Toomey, we extend our deepest condolences. Wishing you strength and comfort as you remember your partner, your friend, and your hero.
