❤️🐾AAHA Accredited Hospital Day🐾❤️

What does it mean to be AAHA accredited?
Our hospital voluntarily chooses to pass a rigorous 900+ point evaluation every 3 years. The evaluation covers best medicine practices for patient care, pain management, anesthesia and surgery, safety, record keeping, and so much more.

Currently, about 15% of all hospitals in the USA and Canada are accredited and maintain their accreditation status.

We are committed to the wellbeing of your pets and are proud to be an AAHA accredited hospital since 2013!

☀️ Hot cars can be deadly for pets. 🐾

As temperatures rise, remember that the inside of a parked vehicle can heat up quickly. Even with the windows cracked or the vehicle parked in the shade, it can become dangerously hot for a pet in just a short amount of time.

If you’re heading out and can’t take your pet inside with you, the safest place for them may be at home.

🐶 A few more ways to help keep your pets safe during hot weather:

• Make sure they always have plenty of fresh water.

• Give them a shady place to cool off when they’re outside.

• Check the pavement with your hand before heading out for a walk. If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws.

• Save walks and outdoor exercise for cooler parts of the day.

A few simple precautions can help keep our four-legged friends safe and comfortable this summer. 🐾

Pet noise aversion is a serious anxiety condition where pets exhibit extreme fear or panic in response to loud or unexpected noises. Unfortunately, Independence Day celebration fireworks are extremely stressful to pets.
Please see this information article from the ASPCA on how to help manage your pet's stress during occasions of loud noises.

🐾💕We are celebrating our awesome Client Service Representatives, Katie and Tyeler, all this week for Veterinary Receptionist’s Week! They were gifted matching scrub tops today as a “thank you!” for all that they do for our hospital, our clients, and our patients. These ladies are our first lines of communication when our clients call/text/email for their pet care needs, they phone triage emergencies, help coordinate the schedule, and so much more. We are so proud to have Katie and Tyeler on our team! 🐶🐱

A good samaritan brought in a deceased feline she found on Highway 212. The feline is an intact male, large, solid gray and white color pattern, domestic shorthair. We are estimating his age to be between 1-2 years old. We will hold his body for a few weeks in case his owners are trying to find him. If this sounds like a kitty you are missing, please contact the hospital at 503-395-1649.
