Earlier this year sweet Louie was found after some time outside with trauma to his face. Diagnostics showed he had a mandibular symphyseal fracture, which is where the left and right side of the lower jaw get separated. He had a wire placed around his jaw to help it align and heal appropriately. This was all performed at a specialty emergency hospital, but we had the pleasure of meeting this boy for his follow up. After about three months of the wire being in place, it was ready to be removed! Louie is continuing to do great in his recovery ❤️‍🩹

We saw this boy for a firm swelling under his jaw. With injectable pain and sedative medication, we were able to lance the swelling, and drain some bloody purulent discharge out. A cytology of the fluid (pictured above), showed white blood cells and bacteria, confirming a diagnosis of an abscess. Unfortunately the cause of the infection is unknown, but with a course of oral antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medications, the swelling has completely resolved.
