I really would like to make the Volunteer Appreciation Day on Oct 11th something that people would really like to attend other and have fun doing something in addition to riding. I'm think non horses things like pumpkin carving, bouncy ball horse races (I'll have to borrow a few) a fishing tournament. How about a modified pumpkin chunkin' contest. Anyone interesting in building a simple launcher that we all could share. Kevin Smith & Kyle Smith, I think you boys could make something like that ;)

And of course there will be food and hopefully entertainment from Winona Hills Music if thy're available.

Any ideas and or suggestions of what you would like to do??

Mucho wanted to join the volunteer campaign even though she's only dreaming of running cross country again. She wants you to know that jump judging is ALMOST as much fun as running around the course with a horse! You get to hang out with a friend or some other like minded person watching horses and riders testing their skills on various level fences at the beautiful Stone Gate Farm. You also learn a lot about the rules and by watching horses and riders at the various levels you soon learn what is needed to not only get the job done but how to do it well. Then there's the bigger reason, being part of the 'TEAM' that makes this sport possible for horses and riders of all levels.

If you can't make it for the whole day we do have shifts if necessary. If you don't have experience we'll pair you up with someone more experienced or give you a fence that shouldn't cause any issues. There also is a briefing and both on the website and the sign up, there is a link to Instructions fo Jump Judges.

Morrissey doesn't appreciate that I posted a picture that resembles us. But it does happen and we need people to put fences up when they fall down, manage the warm up, get people in and out of the ring in a timely fashions and change the height of the fences between levels. Jump crew is the one position where you don't need to commit to a big chunk of time. Sign up for 'when you are available' with the time you are available or the level you are riding so we know we have the course covered especially for the course changes. Again this is a phase that Pony Club parents can take a job like warm up or out gate and rotate people in and out as needed so you can watch your children ride. Again only one person from your team needs to sign up and you manage to have the shift covered.

Aria says we could use a few people to help with the dressage phase of the Sept 20th Mini Trials. I will have the schedule blocked out soon you can see if it will work around your or your child's ride times but Tadpole and Intro riders can definitely work the afternoon shift and Novice and Training riders can definitely work the morning shift. The times on the sign up are from previous competitions and definitely will change somewhat.

Pony Club parents, you can select a team captain and each team can cover a warm up position. You can have people work shorter shifts if necessary but you will be responsible for the entire shift.
