🐾🐶Interested in Starting a Low-Impact Dog Sport?

Join Maureen for an Introduction to Nosework class beginning
📅Thursday, 7/9 @ 5PM

K9 Nose Work® is a scent detection sport that taps into your dog's natural ability to sniff and search. In this introductory class, dogs will begin building strong search skills by creating positive associations between food rewards and finding target boxes.
As teams progress through the program, food rewards will gradually be paired with the three target odors recognized in nosework: birch, anise, and clove.

Nosework is an excellent activity for dogs of all ages, sizes, and temperaments. Because it is low impact and allows dogs to work at their own pace, it is especially beneficial for building confidence, encouraging problem-solving skills, and strengthening the bond between dogs and their handlers.

Whether you're looking for a fun new hobby or a way to enrich your dog's daily life, Nosework is a rewarding sport that both you and your dog can enjoy together. Join us and discover the power of your dog's nose! 🐾

🐾 Don't Miss Out on this summer's Puppy Happy Hours! 🐾
Puppy Happy Hours are a fantastic way to support your young dog's social and behavioral development.

Puppy Happy Hours 45-minute supervised play groups help puppies and their owners learn how to navigate healthy social interactions with other dogs. These groups are exclusive to our active and current clients with puppies under 1 year old.

One of the most valuable skills puppies develop is self-regulation: engaging in play, taking breaks to relax, and then returning to play appropriately. Repeating this cycle helps build healthy play habits that can last a lifetime.

While it may seem fun to let puppies play nonstop until they're exhausted, continuous high-intensity play can sometimes lead to overarousal, making it harder for dogs to make good choices and increasing the potential for conflict. Our structured play sessions help puppies learn balance, appropriate play skills, and relaxation.

Upcoming Puppy Happy Hours:
🐶 Sunday, June 21, 2026 @ 9:30 AM
🐶 Tuesday, July 14, 2026 @ 6:00 PM
🐶 Wednesday, July 22, 2026 @ 5:00 PM
🐶 Saturday, July 25, 2026 @ 11:30 AM
🐶 Saturday, August 1, 2026 @ 1:30 PM
🐶 Sunday, August 23, 2026 @ 9:30 AM

Come hang out, make new friends, and let your puppy learn through play🐾

Congratulations to Our Curbing Adolescence Graduates:

Robbie, Mac and Bear, George - these kids all graduated from Curbing level 2 🐾🎓

Cooper, Rosie, Koda, Bryggen, and Lucy - all graduated from Curbing level 1. 🎓🐾

The teenage months can be one of the most challenging stages of dog ownership. From selective hearing and extra energy to testing boundaries, adolescence is a time of big changes for our dogs—and their people!

We are so proud of our recent Curbing Adolescence graduates for all of their hard work and dedication. Throughout class, these teams focused on building reliable skills, strengthening their relationship, and learning how to navigate the ups and downs of the teenage phase together.

Every dog learns at their own pace, and progress isn’t always a straight line, but these teams showed up, put in the work, and made great strides along the way. 💙

Please join us in celebrating their accomplishments and wishing them continued success on their training journey! 🎉

📣Let's talk about routines and lifestyle changes from your dog's perspective.🐶
When major life changes happen, we usually spend time preparing ourselves. Whether it's moving, welcoming a baby, changing jobs, having family move in, or adding another dog, we often make gradual adjustments to help ease the transition.
Our dogs deserve the same consideration.

Dogs thrive on routine and consistency. When their daily lives suddenly change, it can be confusing and stressful—even when the change is positive from our perspective.
One of the best ways to help your dog adjust is to think ahead. Ask yourself:
🐾What will my dog's life look like after this change?
🐾What behaviors will be acceptable or expected?
🐾Are there new routines or boundaries I should introduce now?
Too often, we expect our dogs to simply adapt overnight. Instead, start making small changes in advance so your dog has time to learn and adjust.

Here are a few examples:
Expecting a baby?
Introduce baby gates before the baby arrives so your dog becomes comfortable with barriers and changing access around the home.

Changing jobs or work schedules?
If your dog will be spending more time alone or in a crate, begin practicing that routine while you're still home. Gradual changes are easier than sudden ones.

Having elderly family members move in?
If your dog tends to jump on people, now is the time to revisit management and training strategies, such as using a house leash and practicing calm greetings.

Adding another dog?
Start thinking about individual feeding and sleeping areas to help prevent conflicts over resources. Consider how daily routines may change as well. If walks will involve two dogs instead of one, now is a great time to strengthen leash-walking skills. One dog pulling on leash can be frustrating—two can be much more challenging.

The goal is simple: don't wait until the change happens to prepare your dog for it. A little planning and proactive training can help your dog feel more confident and successful as your family and lifestyle evolve.

🐾Unleash the Power of Movement with Your Dog!

👀Looking for a fun and engaging way to build your dog's confidence and problem-solving skills? Join Trainer Janice's Movement and Obstacles class!

Unlike fun agility classes, this unique program teaches dogs to recognize equipment patterns and navigate obstacle sequences independently. Dogs learn to think through the course and move confidently from obstacle to obstacle with minimal handler guidance.

This class is a fantastic mental workout for your dog and requires very little physical effort from the handler. If you're curious about agility but want a relaxed, fun introduction, Movement and Obstacles is the perfect place to start.

Your dog will be introduced to a variety of agility equipment in a positive learning environment—without relying on food lures. It's a great way to develop confidence, focus, and independent thinking while having fun together.
