Every puppy is different. Some come in the salon like they’ve been doing this their whole 12 weeks of living.
Others come in the salon like they will murder anything moving.

Either way, keep your puppy on a regular 4-6 week grooming schedule! They’ll benefit, you’ll benefit, your groomer will benefit! Every one wins!

Yes, cats can lick themselves but is it really cleaning!?They cannot get themselves clean like a bath can. Baths help with dirt, dander, flaky skin, greasy ness, things that they may pickup outside (if they’re outside cats), & some skin conditions. They also smell good after if done properly. A cat’s tongue isn’t making them smell good, I promise😂.

Most groomers have a variety of shampoos & conditioners that can be tailored to your cats specific needs.

My girl Snickers finally made it to the Gram❤️

She’s so sweet & shy so when it’s picture time her head is always down. She showed me a different side once she found out her sister Mocha made it on here😂. I’m so happy I was able to capture her looking pretty & confident.

The root of all evil….is a severely matted dog or a severely matted area that cannot be brushed & combed out.

A couple of knots & tangles here & there are no big deal. I’ll brush & comb it out. However, anything that is tightly matted where you cannot see the skin or where your pet can’t feel air in that area is a huge “no no” to a brush & comb. Injuries can & are highly likely to occur!

Humanity over vanity! The hair will absolutely grow back & your groomer should definitely choose safety as their #1 priority in their grooming environment!

I thourghly enjoyed coloring & grooming him, even tho it took an entire shift😅. He hadn’t been groomed in months because of moving, but I could tell he’s normally pretty well maintained.

When it’s comes to dematting & brushing your dog, I GOT YOU!

Muffin is a long hair Shih Tzu & she comes in every 2 weeks! One week for a full groom & 2 weeks later for a full brushout.

You don’t see many long haired Shih Tzu’s & it’s literally because this takes time, money, & dedication to keep their hair looking like silk.

To properly brush you dog⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

💟 Find a good detangling spray specifically for dogs & spray it directly onto the coat.
• Do some research, read some reviews to find a good spray. You can always ask your groomer what they use as well.

💟 Start with a semi long pin brush
• The pins don’t have to be super long but long enough to pe*****te the hair
• No flexible brushes! You need something sturdy that’s not gonna bend when you’re really trying to brush through the coat.

💟 Line brush the coat by lifting any hair that is hanging over the mats out of the way so you can really focus on the section you’re trying to detangle.
• I will be creating a line brushing video to further explain what I mean when I say line brush, but it’s basically what I explained above & what’s shown in the video.

💟 Get a metal tooth comb with minimum spaces.
• Too big of a space between each tooth will have you missing some knots. The less space the harder it will be to miss a tangle.

💟 If you still have tangles, repeat the steps. Sometimes it’s easier for pet parents to do sections & take breaks in between brushing & combing.

I’m never gonna get a break but I just can’t help myself! This is why I’m always booked😅. So when potential clients call looking for appointments & I tell them I’m booked 2 months out, I’m gonna start directing them here so they can see why!

I love y’all so much for trusting me with your babies & allowing me to continue practicing & growing!

I’m still working on faces & the roundness. I feel like they don’t always come out this good, but I just hadddd to post this! I’m really proud of this one🥹

Good morning! Just some food for thought. As small business owners, we work 10x as hard & in some cases reap less of the reward. Unfortunately, we can’t lower our prices because we have multiple things to take care of that cost 💰 when trying to keep the doors of our businesses open.

Take into consideration that….

💟 We have less staff or no staff at all

💟 We run majority of the business or all of the business with only minimum services or sales bringing in the 💰

💟 Bills are expensive!

💟 Tools & upkeep of tools are expensive!

💟 Products are expensive!

We don’t live in a world where everything is reasonably priced. We also have our personal lives to keep up with which include more bills & taking care of our families. The job in itself can be stressful, time consuming, & takes a toll on our bodies daily. We deserve just as much as those big corporations & if we don’t take all of that into consideration, we’d be selling ourselves short & losing out on profit which will in turn have our business doors shut for good!

If the prices of a small business aren’t within your budget, I promise you we don’t fault you for going somewhere that you can afford. As long as your pets are being treated good & you feel comfortable, that’s what matters!🫶🏾
