🐾Gracie Update!🐾

Thanks to your incredible support, Gracie is officially on the road to recovery! While we couldn't raise enough to bring in the traveling board-certified surgeon, our amazing lead veterinarian, Dr. LeAnn Welch, stepped up to save her life. She successfully repaired her diaphragmatic hernia, checked for an inguinal hernia, and spayed her all at once so she wouldn't have to undergo anesthesia a second time. Gracie was also heartworm tested (negative!) and caught up on all her vaccines. As for her broken pelvis, we consulted with the board-certified surgeon using her radiographs, and he confidently believes it can heal fully with strict cage rest. Today, Gracie is breathing easy and resting comfortably. She is being pampered in a foster home by one of our seasoned vet technicians, Courtney, and she already has all of us completely wrapped around her little paw. We are managing her pain closely and showering her with the love she deserves. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who donated and shared her story. You made this second chance possible!

The clinic will be closed today from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. for a staff learning opportunity. We will resume normal business hours after 2:00 p.m. Thank you for your understanding, and we hope you have a wonderful day!

🎉 Happy Birthday to our wonderful receptionist, Sara! 🥳

Sara always brings so much fun and positivity to our clinic. While we miss having her here full-time, we're so thankful she's still part of our team.

Please help us wish Sara the happiest of birthdays! We hope you have an amazing day! 💙🐾

Some days, this job is just the best. 🥹🐾

Meet Daisy, a 7-week-old Chihuahua weighing just 1.3 pounds. She spent her visit perfectly tucked into Dr. Welch’s scrub pocket, soaking up every bit of love and attention she could get.

We’re pretty sure Dr. Welch would’ve happily kept Daisy around all day… and honestly, we can’t say we blame her. 💕🐶

✨ Meet the Newest Member of Our Team! ✨

If you’ve visited us recently, you’ve probably noticed a new smiling face at the front desk!

We’re excited to officially introduce Brittany, or “B” (because one Brittany just wasn’t enough! 😄). B has been with us for about a month now, and she’s already become a wonderful addition to our team. She’s jumped right in, keeps things running smoothly, and always greets our clients with a smile.

If you haven’t had the chance to meet her yet, be sure to say hello at your next visit. We’re so happy to have you on the Hannibal Veterinary Clinic team, B! 💙🐾

🦷 Wellness Wednesday 🦷

When was the last time you looked at your pet’s teeth?

Dental disease is one of the most common health problems we see in both dogs and cats, and it often starts long before you notice bad breath. By the time a pet is showing obvious signs of dental pain, they may already have significant infection hiding below the gumline.

Routine dental cleanings do more than freshen your pet’s breath. They can:
🐾 Reduce pain and inflammation
🐾 Help prevent tooth loss
🐾 Decrease bacteria that can affect the heart, kidneys, and liver
🐾 Improve your pet’s comfort and quality of life

A professional dental cleaning allows us to thoroughly clean above and below the gumline, take a close look at every tooth, and address any problems before they become more serious.

If you’ve noticed bad breath, difficulty chewing, drooling, or red gums, it may be time to schedule a dental evaluation.

Healthy mouths lead to happier, healthier pets! Give us a call if you have questions about whether your pet could benefit from a dental cleaning. ❤️🐶🐱

🐾 Monday Pet Roll Call! 🐾

We think Mondays are a little better when they’re filled with cute faces.

Show us your pet in the comments! ❤️

📸 Bonus points if they’re:
• Sleeping in a funny position
• Making a goofy face
• “Helping” you work
• Living their best spoiled life

We can’t wait to see them!
