Is your senior dog sleeping more, wandering the house at night, forgetting routines, or seeming a little “off” their game?
Many pet parents assume these changes are simply part of aging, but they could be early signs of Canine Cognitive Dysfunction (CCD). This condition closely resembles Alzheimer’s disease in people.
Research shows brain health isn’t fixed. Fresh food, regular exercise, environmental enrichment, omega-3 fats, antioxidants, targeted supplements, and early intervention all help support cognitive function and improve quality of life.
In my newest article, I explain:
🐾The earliest warning signs of CCD
🐾What happens inside the aging brain
🐾Nutrients shown to support memory and learning
🐾Why daily activity protects the brain
🐾Practical ways to help your dog stay mentally sharp for years to come
Growing older is inevitable, but growing older well is something we can influence. Check out my latest article, link in comments. 🐾

📚 Back-to-school season isn't just an adjustment for children—it can be a big change for puppies, too.

If your puppy has enjoyed a house full of people all summer, the sudden quiet when school starts can be confusing. The good news is that you can make the transition much easier by introducing your school-year routine before the first day arrives.

A little preparation now can help your Australian Labradoodle build confidence, adjust more smoothly, and prevent separation anxiety before it starts. 🐾

If a dog comes into contact with a microorganism called Leptospira, they may be in danger of developing Leptospirosis, a disease that targets the kidneys and liver.

Many don’t know this information! Remember every second matters during a choking incident.
1. Place the dog on their back. Brace the back against the floor. Straddle the dog while adjusting yourself based on the size of the dog. Position the head in “in-line position” with the airway parallel to the floor.
2. Make an open diamond shape with your hands. Place your thumbs on either side of the trachea below the ball or object. Grip the “V” of the jaw using lip/cheek to protect fingers.
3. Push with a J-stroke down and out against the ball until it ejects from the mouth.
Both this method and the Heimlich method has been proven to work in these scenarios so don’t hesitate to save your dog.
