BBB (AKA: Big Beautiful Bitch) got her habitat cleaned out and reorganized today. She was surprisingly chill! Not a single attempt to bite, but she was very cautious. I am SO proud of her.
Why does her not wanting to eat me make me proud?
When she first came to me, she would strike at the tank when you walked by. Was not handleable unless you wanted 100 bleeding teeth holes in you. Move anything anywhere near her? BITE. Constantly afraid of her surroundings and very reactive to movement.
3 years later and I can hold her without getting bit, even when she is hungry like today. I talk to her, tell her what my plans are, what I am doing in her habitat, tell her she's a good girl and she'sdoing great, sing to her along to music while I clean, and act calm because if I am calm and act normal, so does she.
She is a beautiful snake and I am so grateful to own her π
This is why I have a special place in my heart for the "difficult" ones. It's often that they just lack confidence and safety, which makes them defensive and scared. It's not always their fault π
