Fireworks can be frightening and stressful for many pets. If your dog or cat experiences anxiety during loud noises, now is the time to pick up any prescribed sedatives or calming medications before the holiday weekend.
Please don’t wait until the last minute — medication refill requests increase quickly this time of year, and we want to make sure your pets stay safe and comfortable.

Helpful holiday reminders:
🐶 Keep pets safely indoors during fireworks
🐱 Create a quiet, secure space at home
🎵 Turn on calming music or white noise
🏷️ Double-check collars, ID tags, and microchip information

💙🐾 A Fond Farewell to Dr. Tierney 🐾💙

After 10 incredible years with Shinnecock Animal Hospital, we are sad to share that Dr. Tierney will be moving on to a new chapter.

We cannot thank her enough for her dedication, compassion, and the countless ways she has cared for our patients, clients, and team over the years. Her commitment and kindness have made a lasting impact on our hospital family, and she will truly be missed.

Dr. Tierney will be continuing her veterinary journey at a hospital closer to home and her family, and while we are sad to see her go, we are excited to see what the future holds for her.

Enhancing Our Services to Better Serve You and Your Pets

Dear Valued Clients,

We hope this message finds you and your furry family members well. We’re excited to share some important updates as we make improvements to better serve you at Shinnecock Animal Hospital.

📅 Launching Our New Electronic Records System
Beginning Monday, June 9, 2025, we will be transitioning to a new electronic medical records system. This upgrade will enhance the efficiency and accuracy of our care, helping us continue to provide the highest level of service for your pets.

⏰ Temporary Changes to Operating Hours
To ensure a smooth transition, we will be closed from 12:00 PM on Saturday, June 7 through 1:00 PM on Monday, June 9.
We encourage you to plan ahead for any medication pick-ups or pet care needs prior to this closure.

📱 Changes to the PetDesk App
With this upgrade, the PetDesk mobile app will no longer be up to date. A new mobile app is in development. In the meantime, you will continue receiving important healthcare reminders via email and text.

🗓️ Online Appointment Requests Temporarily Paused
Starting June 9, the appointment request feature on our website will be temporarily disabled. We are working on launching a new, improved online booking tool and will keep you informed once it's available.

🐾 What to Expect During the Transition
As our team adapts to the new system, please anticipate slightly longer visit times. We appreciate your patience as we work through this change with care and dedication.
