A walk through the woods, exploring a field, or sniffing along a quiet trail can provide something that structured obedience training and neighborhood walks often can’t.

🚨 LAUNCH ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨

A few weeks ago, I quietly launched something very close to my heart.

The response has already been incredible, and now I’m ready to officially introduce it to everyone.

Kendo’s Keep Them Home Fund. 🖤🐾

There was one more thing Kendo needed to do.

For years, Kendo worked beside me serving our community as my police K9 partner. When he retired from police work, his job changed—but he never really stopped working. He spent his retirement beside me again, this time helping me work with and rehabilitate pet dogs.

Eventually, I had to say goodbye to him.
But his work never really stopped.

So much of what Kendo taught me became part of the trainer I am today. In one way or another, a piece of him has been present in every dog I’ve helped since.

Now I’m making that legacy official.

Kendo’s Keep Them Home Fund is a training-assistance fund created to help families who love their dogs, are willing to put in the work, but are facing a financial barrier to getting the professional training they need.

Because sometimes families aren’t giving up because they don’t love their dog.

Sometimes they simply don’t have access to the help they need.

I’ve seen what can happen when owners finally receive the right information, the right tools and the right support. Sometimes that support can be the difference between surrendering a dog and finding a way forward together.

They didn’t start out as friends.

In fact, these two dogs really struggled with each other. There was tension, outbursts, uncertainty, and plenty of reasons to keep them separated.

The goal was never to force them to “like” each other.

The goal was to teach them how to communicate, give them the space to feel safe, and build enough trust that being around each other didn’t feel like a conflict.

And then… they started playing.

This is why I don’t believe in rushing behavior work.

Sometimes progress looks like ignoring each other.

Sometimes it looks like peacefully sharing a room.

And sometimes, after enough time and the right guidance, it looks like THIS.

Two dogs who once struggled to coexist, choosing to play together.

That’s the kind of progress worth celebrating.
