We saw Archer the Dragon Slayer today. 😍🐕Remember him? Survived a house fire despite burns on 40-50% of his body. And Archer has thrived thanks to help from Dr Jamie Peyton , donations from the people of Haines, tons of TLC and care from his family the Hotches, and donations of FISH SKIN used to treat his burns. It has been over 3 YEARS since the initial photos! Last pic is him in our clinic today.

I spent working with an amazing group of vets and techs at Pacific Marine Mammal Center - even helped out with a couple sea lion patients who they will get back to the wild soon!

Pacific marine mammal center is a powerhouse team, made up of mostly volunteers, who rescue, treat and release hundreds of animals BACK TO THE WILD!

AND they also do research to get at the root causes of why so many marine mammals are struggling, and why our oceans are sick.

AND they help train vets like me, in specialized vet techniques to treat seals and sea lions. Then I can go back to Alaska and places north and help with marine mammals that need vet care there.

Our oceans need us and we can't get overwhelmed or turn away from problems that seem too big. We can all help and figure this out-- and it starts with grassroots volunteering and support of groups like

Gonna have more cool PMMC stories and clips to share soon.. in the mean time you can help by giving them a follow to learn about what animals they are rescuing and what we can all do to help.

This is Bohdi. One of the happiest friendliest dogs I’ve ever met. Saw him running with backcountry skiers up and down a powdery snow mountain a few weeks before his accident and it was an incredible sight of dog athleticism and happiness. Unfortunately soon after that Bodhi got lost..& found a trap..and despite all night searches by his parents, was stuck by his paw overnight. His paw was frozen solid. We’ve been treating his frostbite & trying to save his leg! We’re seeing progress thanks to grafts, treatments, and constant nursing care from his mom & dad. Also thanks to so many people, local and from away, who donated time & supplies. Warms my heart to see you all turn up when our fur babies need help! An Xtra special thanks to:. Dr.Anderson at SEAAMC, Dr Priddy at AK Mobile Surgery & Dr. Dahlberg at VSOA. To help with his vet supply costs copy and paste Bohdi’s go fund me link: https://gofund.me/489fae5d
It’s the team effort for me..❤️🐶❤️ and it helps that every 3 days Bohdi is still wagging and happy to see me for his bandage change.
