🐾 Male vs. Female Cane Corso: What’s the Difference?
One of the most common questions we get is, “Should I get a male or a female?”
The truth is… both make incredible companions! It simply depends on what you’re looking for.
🖤 Males
🐾 Larger, heavier build
💪 More muscle and bone
🤪 Often goofy, affectionate, and playful
❤️ Tend to be “gentle giants” with their families
🤎 Females
🐾 Slightly smaller and more athletic
⚡ Often mature mentally a little sooner
🛡️ Naturally observant and protective
🧠 Quick learners with excellent focus
Size Differences
The AKC breed standard generally calls for:
Males
📏 25–27.5 inches at the shoulder
⚖️ Approximately 100–120+ lbs (depending on genetics and condition)
Females
📏 23.5–26 inches at the shoulder
⚖️ Approximately 85–110+ lbs (depending on genetics and condition)
Remember, every Cane Corso is an individual. Some females are larger than average, and some males are more compact. Health, structure, temperament, and proper conditioning are far more important than chasing a certain size.
At Kraken Kennel, we focus on producing Cane Corsos with sound structure, stable temperaments, and correct breed type—because the best Corso isn’t necessarily the biggest one.
