Happy World Beard Day from some of our bearded ladies and gentlemen! Whose beard do you like best?

Let's make TODAY the day Kaida, our longest-term canine resident, finally finds her forever home! πŸ₯° This fashionista is seeking a home where she's the only pet and isn't in a busy downtown area. Kaida is a big, strong girl who prefers to spend her days lounging on chairs, couches, beds – even if you're already on them! She's fully convinced she's a lapdog. 🀣 Kaida has done great with older/sturdier kids and is the prefect snuggle buddy.

She's very stressed at the shelter and has been waiting since March to find that prefect fit, that lucky person or family who has no other pets and wants one big one. Her adoption fee has been sponsored. She's spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Please come in and ask to meet Kaida TODAY!

(There are no open kennels in our Dog Adopt room, so you must ask for her by name.)

Kora's ice-blue eyes might make her look tough, but she's a gentle, loving girl. One of her eyes is actually partly dark brown -- she's a truly unique beauty! Kora was in a loving home for the past two years but sadly, serious health issues and medical treatment left her owner unable to stay with her, and he brought her to us in hopes of finding her a new home where she'll receive all the love and attention she's grown accustom to.

Kora is reportedly both house-trained and crate-trained, though she's also been left loose in the home by herself without any issues. Her previous owner shared that Kora "loves kids" and "gets along with all humans of all ages." She just doesn't like when kids jump on her (but who does?!). Kora would love to live with someone who's home with her a lot, so if you work from home or have a home-bound relative, check her out!

You've got to meet Kora in person to truly appreciate how sweet and precious she is! Stop in and ask to meet her today! Her adoption fee is just $50 through Saturday, September 12.

πŸ•: Kora has done well with other dogs, though she would likely do best with one who is on the calmer side and is around the same size as her (or larger). Bring yours in to meet her!
πŸ‘«: Kora may do well with older children who will respect her space and not jump on her.
🐈: Unfortunately, Kora isn't a fan of smaller animals, so it is not recommended that she goes to a home with cats.
🩺: Kora is 3 years old and weighs about 56 pounds. She's spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Kora is ready to go home today!
πŸ“ : Stop in at 13011 Maugansville Road in Hagerstown, MD and ask to meet Kora!

If Samantha looks familiar, it's possible you've seen her out and about in the community! This brindle beauty has attracted a lot of attention and compliments on her trips to Petsmart and The Home Depot with our volunteer dog trainers, but she's yet to attract an interested adopter. Now we're showing her cute face to the world, and hopefully it reaches the right person or family for Samantha! 🀞

Samantha is just over a year old, and like most puppies, she LOVES to destroy stuffed toys! Even the toughest of our plush toys are no match for this girl -- it's only a matter of minutes until the stuffing goes flying, but she has a blast doing it! Samantha walks nicely on a leash and has done great on those off-site outings with our trainers. When it comes to other dogs, she prefers them to be calm, cool, and collected. Those rough, rowdy, exuberant pups scare her so much, she curls into herself and tries to make herself as small as possible.

Whether you're a single person, a couple, or a family, Samantha is a great option! She would do best in a home where she can go on daily walks and have regular exercise and mental enrichment. She's still awaiting her spay surgery, but she's available to meet people and may be able to go home as foster-to-adopt (ask our Adoptions team for more info)! The shelter is stressful for a young dog like Samantha, and she'd love to get out of here and find that forever home soon, so come meet her today!

All dog adoption fees are just $50 through September 12th!

πŸ•: Samantha may do well with a calm, gentle dog. Bring yours in to meet her!
πŸ‘«: Samantha may do well with children who are respectful to dogs.
🐈: We don't know how Samantha feels about cats. We recommend slow introductions.
🩺: Samantha is 1 year 3 months old and weighs 61 pounds. At the time of adoption, she will be spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped.
πŸ“: Come meet Samantha at 13011 Maugansville Road in Hagerstown!

Tomorrow marks six months since three-year-old Blythe arrived. In that time, we've had 222 dog adoptions. Some dogs, after it didn't work out in their first adoptive home, were even a second time! But in half a year, not once has anyone filled out an adoption application for Blythe.

We know her kennel presence isn't the best, and we've had a few heart-to-heart talks with her about how she could help herself out in that department, but you know how it is... in one ear and out the other (and despite how she looks in the photo, we assure you she DOES have ears!). We've shared her on Facebook multiple times and even on The Pawcast to show her true personality. We've encouraged people to ask to meet her outside of her kennel. She even spent some time in a foster home and received compliments on her loyal and sweet nature! But Blythe is still waiting for the chance to finally be someone's dog.

She's a big girl, and yeah, she has a big bark, but she's so easy to love and share your home with. While in foster care, she had three favorite activities: bees, cheese, and catchin' Zzzs! πŸπŸ§€πŸ˜΄ She loved spending time outside alternating between chasing (and trying to eat) bees and lying on the deck sunbathing. Indoors, she preferred to lay on the couch and nap. And as for cheese, well, do we really need to explain?! It's the salve that makes everything better in life!

Blythe would do great in a home with someone who will take her on regular walks, keep her mind stimulated, give her belly rubs, and receive her kisses. Her adoption fee has been sponsored by a generous donor. Change your whole world and Blythe's by stopping in and asking to meet her today.

πŸ•: Blythe may do well with a calm, social dog after slow, proper introductions. Bring yours in to meet her! She'd also be perfectly happy being the only dog in the home.
πŸ‘«: Blythe is a very strong girl and may do best with older/sturdier kids who are respectful to dogs.
🐈: Blythe came to us as a stray and did not see any cats while in foster care, so we're not sure how she feels about them. We recommend slow introductions.
🩺: Blythe is 3 years old and weighs 76 pounds. She's spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped.
πŸ“ : Meet Blythe at 13011 Maugansville Road in Hagerstown, MD!

Fosters, please share your available (or soon-to-be available) kittens (and/or adult cats, if you've got 'em) in the comments!

Adopters, follow this post to be alerted when more kittens are listed in the comments! If you're seeing this post early, please check back later. It may take some time for fosters to see and comment on this post, but they will!

All come spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Kittens do best in pairs, so adopt two if you're able! Now through September 12, adoption fees for all cats and kittens are just $25! Fosters will be able to answer questions about their individual cats/kittens in the comments.
