*The little choco that could*

Gunner has been with me from the start at 6 months old. He came into training for gun dog foundation but he just earned his finished title a couple weeks ago.
From the jump I had the feeling Gunner would turn into a really nice dog but he struggled with confidence early in his career.
As he matured and learned he could do the hard stuff he earned the nickname the little choco that could. Can’t say thank you enough to his owners for trusting me and trusting the process !
He went from struggling with the tough stuff to showing up and being one of the most consistent dogs on the truck. He’s probably 50 lbs soaking wet on a good day; But he’s got heart and loves to do the right thing. I’m not a huge chocolate guy but im partial to this chocolate!

Hela earned her HRCH this past weekend and I’ve had a little time to reflect.

Something I don’t consider enough is how bittersweet titling dogs like her would be. From very early in her training career I knew she was special. She has incredible work ethic while being rather biddable and she’s got talent to boot.

She’s as gritty as they come. She bounced back from a broken leg from slipping on some ice in a field 2 seasons ago. Jack and I weren’t sure how her leg would handle the daily training since her leg healed slightly abnormal due to the nature and location of the break, but it never slowed her down, and she came back strong as she left.

The thought of not having her on the truck never really crossed my mind because I’ve had her for 5-7 months a year since she was 6 months old and our long term goal was always at least HRCH, well she’s achieved that and now she gets to go home and to say im gonna miss having her around is an understatement. She was a dog that didn’t really matter what you asked of her day in and day out she would set the tone for the rest of the truck and regularly make it look easier than it was.

Can’t thank Jack enough for letting me chase her title and Ben for breeding such a fun dog. Enjoy your first summer off Hela, you’ve earned it and then some !

Teaching newcomer Cruze some hold, starting off easy, grab it and you get paid, this is day 2 for him on this, he’s a quick study ! Breezed through basic obedience and collar conditioning so onto table work for the big guy.
Cruze was bred by and is a perfect example of why genetics matter, he’s been great to train !
