Round two of the MCA National Specialty Recap stars Nessie and Sardonyx!!

These two were our sports fiends this weekend, playing on the dock and running their hearts out on the fastcat field!

Sardonyx ran fastcat Thursday only since Friday ended up being SO busy. We're still knocking away points for that FCAT. On the dock he swam close to his PB for Margie in hydrodash with a 26.775 🧡 Distance he hit 18'3!

Ness brought her speed to the game, earning her second end title: BCAT 💜 She also jumped her little heart out with a new personal distance best of 15'9!!

Now for a very special moment at the National. Sardonyx was awarded at our Annual Dinner, a gorgeous rosette for last years standings. He was the #2 Owner Handled Mudi and #7 Mudi Breed. He was also awarded a gorgeous certificate and ribbon for the 2nd level of mudi versatility award, he skipped right over the first level like the little overachiever he is 🔥

Again, we'd never be here without Margaret of Gemini Dream Mudi, thank you for the support and for buying Sardi's top 20 ribbon 🧡 your support means the world. Theresa at Menagerie Mudi, for going out with us this national and co-owning Ness with Wodan Kennels.

Mudi Club of America 2026 National Specialty weekend has come and gone. Updates are a little late as we were uber busy, and will be split into two to properly spotlight the dogs brought along ✨️

Our special in the conformation ring this weekend was Killian! Despite the record breaking entries, and the humid toasty building, he put up his best each day 💚 Starting off strong in the Regional Specialty Thursday we was first Award of Merit! Friday, our National, was the longest ring time of the weekend (10AM to after 4PM 🤯). Killian made it down to 6 dog specials, but did not make the final three placements. With an entry that size, making the final cut was validation enough 💚 Saturday in a supported entry he went on to go Select Dog! All in all he made the cut 3/4 days!

Sorche is still in a full teenage growth spurt, and started her first heat Wednesday while on the road. She still made it in the ribbons, going second place in a large class of 4 twice 🩷 She also got to show off with both her mom and dad in stud dog and brood bitch, going third in the group with dad!! She's showing so much promise, and we can't wait to see what this heat brings to her maturity.

Last but not least, Killian finished his DCAT title!! He was only a few runs off and had some slower runs due to the heat, but had a weekend best of 24.56MPH.

Huge congratulations to all who made cuts and placements over the weekend, and to Margaret Pontillo of Gemini Dream Mudi and Theresa of Menagerie Mudi for putting such lovely dogs on the map ❤️

Next let's introduce the girls!

Celtic mudi is proud to present: two up and coming co-own females. They are both young and still maturing, but we are so excited for their future with us.

First up: Nessie - CH Bonum Et Malum Wodan's Last Hungarian Legacy DJ

Nessie is a water loving spitfire of a little lady! She was imported to the U.S. and placed with us as a co-own with Wodan and Menagerie Kennels. She finished her championship with some great competition wins, including Best of Breed over specials! She's affectionately become known as the Swamp Goddess, Swamp Rat, or Swampy because this girl lives to swim 💜 She's just started her sports career, and will have her health testing completed soon!

Next up: Sorche (Suh-or-sha) - AKC major pointed Menagerie's Celtic Radiant Light Puppy of Achievement

Sorche is out of our very own boy Killian, who Menagerie Mudi used for Venus's final litter. The entire litter was everything we had hoped would come together from both dam and sire. Sorche has both majors and, at only 10 months old, is 2 single points away from finishing her championship! She is so striking, and uses her light to bring joy wherever she goes.

We're thrilled to share a little bit about our girls. They bring so much to our lives and program 💜🩷

The boys who started it all.

For those of you who are friends with either of us, you will know these boys well. They have accomplished more in three years than some dogs do in their entire lives. They taught us more than we ever thought possible, and took us on their incredible journey 💚🧡

First up Killian - GCHS CH Gemini Dream God Of Sun And Light FDC BCAT CGC TKN

Killian has won multiple owner handled groups, earned multiple group placements, supported entry Best of Breed winner, as well as being a Westminster, Regional Specialty, and Royal Canin National Championships Award of Merit earner. In 2024 he was the #7 owner handled mudi. In 2025 he was owner handled #4, grand championship #6, mudi breed #8, and all breed #10.

All that just in the conformation ring!! Outside of the ring, he has also sired a lovely litter with Menagerie Mudi. His puppies are still young, but already showing some intense promise.

Personality wise - Killian is a more stoic dog. He loves to turn up the drive for fastcat or frisbee, and has a bit of a goof ball side, but takes work very seriously. This is what makes him incredible in the show ring 💚

Next up Sardonyx - UCH GCHB CH Gemini Dream Watch Me Burn OHS FDCH-S BCAT DSE DJA HDN RE BN UWP CGCA CGCU ATT TKN

Sardonyx has multiple group placements, an owner handled reserve best in show, multiple NOHS group placements, a sweepstakes group win, a UKC Best in Show, and multiple UKC group wins. He also ended 2025 as the #2 owner handled mudi and #7 mudi breed.

That doesn't even include his sport accomplishments, he truly shines in the way of versatility. So far, any sport we've tried, he's ready to give his all! Being so young we've only just scratched the surface of his performance career.

Personality wise - Sardonyx is thoughtful with a silly boyish charm. He has an intense toy drive but it's paired beautifully with a strong off switch. He's outwardly friendly with people and dogs, often turning his butt to them for scratches 🧡

Saving the best for last: as if these two weren't incredible enough, they came with two of the best mentors you could ask for. Margaret of Gemini Dream and Theresa of Menagerie Mudi took us under their wings and gave us all the tools we needed to succeed. They continue to shape us into a wonderful program, and Gemini Dream lovingly co-owns both boys ❤️

It's beyond time we did a formal introduction!

Celtic Mudi is the dream we didn't realize we had. The two humans behind the scenes didn't set out to start a program, but fell head over heels for the breed. With help and encouragement from some amazing mentors, we realized it was the right path forward.

Our goal is to produce healthy dogs with exceptional structure and temperaments. We will not be a large producing program, only having a few litters over longer time spans. What we lack in numbers we will make up for with a very high quality standard.

This program became a possibility when two of the most incredible boys entered our lives and brought us together. It’s only fitting that they be the face as they are the foundation 🧡💚

There will be more posts coming to introduce us and the dogs in detail!
