We're full of cats!

Literally.
We have no more room to take in any cats...

GVAWL has 19 kittens, 6 adults, and 3 senior cats as of Friday 6/12.

Until 6/30...all adult cats will have a reduced adoption fee of $100, or a pair for $150.

Kittens are $150 for one, $200 for two!
5 kittens have been claimed, we are starting to take holds/reservations on the remaining 14 kittens. Photos of all kittens and available status will be posted by the end of the weekend.

**KITTENS CANNOT BE ADOPTED/GO HOME UNTIL THEY WEIGH 2 LBS OR MORE AND ARE SPAYED/NEUTERED. None of our kittens meet these requirements yet. We're getting closer though!**

Senior cats can be adopted for $50.

COURTESY POST: Let’s Find Bear His Happily Ever After

Meet Bear, he is ready to be ADOPTED!! He's looking for his forever home and currently lives in CB. Bear ended up in a high kill shelter in Cali after his owner passed away. I have been fostering Bear for 5 months; he is now well adjusted to life in the mountains and will make a great companion!

Bear is an 8-year-old Shepherd, Golden, Chow mix with a calm personality. He loves the simple things in life - chilling at home, in the yard or river, car rides, walks, chewing on bones, nordic skiing, snow, and spending time near his people. He loves to be outside, but does not require a lot of exercise.

Bear walks nicely on leash, takes treats gently, and is very polite with food and bones. He’s smart, trainable and would benefit from someone who wants to continue training him. Bear would thrive in a relaxed home and would do well with other dogs.

At this time he’s looking for a home without cats or small children due to a lack of information. Bear is up to date on vaccinations and has a few manageable health considerations that can be discussed with interested adopters. If possible, I would love to see him adopted in the valley so I can continue being in his life and provide Bear Care if needed.

To celebrate the start of summer 2026, we're offering a $26 adoption fee for our longest cat residents, Mittens and Jordan, through the end of June.

While we generally try to place cats in an indoor only home, Jordan would do best as an outdoor cat with minimal human interaction. Mittens would like to be indoor/outdoor. Mitten seems to get along well with other cats while Jordan would prefer to be on her own.

Maverick is a 3 year old coonhound/german shepherd mix. He is looking for a home that can provide lots of time to make sure this boy gets enough playtime and exercise to get all his energy out. He is good with kids and most dogs, but should go to a home that does not have cats.
