There’s a side to dog grooming that we don’t talk about: the heartbreak when a long-time client passes away. 💔
When you trust me with your dog every few weeks for years, they stop being just a client. They become family. I get to know every single part of them—the way they lean into me when they're nervous, the exact spot they love to be scratched, and the gentle patience they need as they grow into seniors. I hold them close, look into their eyes, and care for them through every stage of their life.
So when they leave us, the loss hits incredibly hard. Walking up to an empty grooming table is a heavy feeling. The salon feels too quiet, and my heart aches for the routine, the familiar tail wags, and the unique soul I grew to love.
I carry this quiet grief because loving your babies is a beautiful part of my job, but saying goodbye is the hardest. To every family who has lost a piece of their heart recently: please know that I am grieving right alongside you. Your sweet pets left permanent paw prints on my heart, and they will never be forgotten at Pawz in the Sand. 🕊️🐾
