Today is Veterans Day, a day to honor and thank all the brave people who have served and sacrificed for our country. We also want to recognize and appreciate the special role that animals play in the military and in the lives of veterans. Animals have been loyal companions, helpers, and heroes for soldiers throughout history, providing comfort, support, and protection. 🐾

“God sent them to my door” Stray dog brings hope to a widow’s porch. For 45 years, she was a wife. Then one morning, she woke up a widow, her husband gone, her home silent, and her heart broken. It had been raining every day since he passed, as if the sky itself was grieving with her. Each morning she sat alone, listening to the storm, praying for a reason to keep going.

On the final day of the downpour, her prayer was answered. Her Ring camera caught a stray mother dog, drenched from the storm, carrying her puppies one by one. With nowhere else to go, the dog placed them on the widow’s porch and curled up against the door.

When the woman opened it, she didn’t just see a frightened stray, she saw a reason to live. Through tears, she said softly: “My husband always wanted dogs.”

Not fact checked yet, but how cool would this be if it is truly what they have accomplished!

Replanting vast acres of forests seemed like an overwhelming task until three Border Collies stepped up to help. These dogs have been specially trained to run through damaged forests, wearing backpacks that release native plant seeds as they go. The goal is for these seeds to take root and help regenerate the destroyed areas 🐶

Border Collies are perfect for this job due to their speed, intelligence, endurance, and ability to stay focused, even when wildlife is present!

It is amazing what dogs can be trained to do. Maple is going to amazing things for studying disease among the bee population. She has a tailored suit just for her!

Researchers at Michigan State University have brought a k-9, a springer-spaniel named Maple, into the fold to help detect the honeybee disease: American foulbrood, a bacterial disease that poses a significant threat to honeybees.

Her bee suit is specially altered and tested to keep her safe!!
