Wicked Moon Maine Coons - Cats & Kittens Health & genetic tested Maine C***s. 🩺 Located in SW PA. No breeding rights—pets only. Visit WickedMoonMaineC***s.com to learn more & follow our journey! ✨

Wicked Moon is owned & operated by Megan Marucci in Fayette County, PA. We are CFA registered. Believe it or not, I was never a "cat" person but a few years ago I found myself at a cat shelter where I adopted my first love Moon, a beautiful Siamese mix. About a year later I found myself researching and obsessing over the Maine C**n breed-I HAD to have one. Kassius entered my life, the most loyal, loving animal I have ever met. With lines coming from Budapest and Italy he is sure to grow large and absolutely magnificent. I found my Queen, Stormi who comes all the way from Russia. Stormi is fierce, full of personality but as cuddly as they come. Saige and Salem both joined our family last year, also coming from Russia. All health and genetic testing has been complete and they will be paired with Kassiuss this year in 2023. Please follow along, interact and feel free to message me with any questions you may have!

Throwback Thursday to the litter that started it all. 🥹🖤

Stormi and Kassius’ very first babies.

Before the waitlist. Before the reservation days. Before Wicked Moon became what it is today.

There was just us, completely in love with a tiny litter of Maine C**n kittens and dreaming about what this could become.

Looking back at these babies feels emotional in a way I can’t really explain. They were the beginning of everything. The first sleepless nights. The first milestones. The first families who trusted us. The first little pieces of Wicked Moon sent out into the world.

So much has changed since then, but this litter will always hold a piece of my heart that no other litter ever could.

They were our first. 🖤🐾

And somehow, that feels like yesterday and a lifetime ago all at once.

🖤 Your cat has a way of making you smell like home.

When they rub their cheeks against your hand or press their forehead into you, they can transfer scent from glands around their face.

Scent is a huge part of how cats understand their world. Familiar smells help make their surroundings feel safe, and rubbing can also be a friendly greeting or a request for attention.

So that little head bump while you’re trying to answer an email has a whole conversation behind it.

I’ll happily accept a few interrupted emails for that. 🥹🐾

Does your cat greet you with a gentle boop or a full force Maine C**n headbutt? 😂

🎃 A fluffy Maine C**n tail and a flickering candle are a terrible Halloween pairing.

Cats may investigate a flame with a paw, brush against it, or knock it over. That beautiful tail can get dangerously close before anyone notices.

Use enclosed battery operated lights in your pumpkins, and keep the lights and batteries out of reach.

You still get the glowing windows, spooky shadows, and cozy October atmosphere.

Your cat gets to continue haunting the house with their whiskers intact. 🐈‍⬛🖤

Save this for pumpkin carving night. Follow Wicked Moon Maine C***s for cat care with a little magic.

We have spent these first six weeks watching them grow, studying their personalities, and learning what kind of homes will allow each kitten to truly thrive.

Tomorrow, approved families may receive the message they have been waiting for...

“We believe we found your Wicked Moon kitten.” 🥹🐾

Please remember that our placements are not first come, first served and families do not choose from a lineup. Every match is carefully considered based on temperament, lifestyle, household dynamics, and the individual needs of each kitten.

Six little lives are about to take one enormous step closer to their forever families.

Keep your phones close.

Tomorrow, the stars begin revealing where these babies belong. 🌙

October is the one month when owning a black cat is considered seasonal decor. 🖤🎃

The rest of the year, they are simply unpaid supervisors who follow you into the bathroom and scream when dinner is four minutes late.

Show me your little house panther in the comments. 🌙

I love how there’s always a kitten on my desk waiting for me, every single morning… 🖤☕️

👻 Your cat doesn’t know it’s Halloween.

They know the doorbell keeps ringing.
Strangers sound excited outside.
Their people look different.
The front door keeps opening.

Even a confident cat may find that overwhelming.

Before the first visitors arrive, set up a quiet room with water, a litter box, a comfortable bed, and somewhere to hide. Let your cat settle there away from the doorway, and remind guests to keep that room closed.

Check that their microchip contact details are current, too.

Our little familiars deserve a peaceful evening while we answer the door for the neighborhood ghosts. 🖤🌙

Share this with someone spending their first Halloween with a kitten.

🐈‍⬛ That face your cat makes after smelling something deserves an explanation. 😂

You know the one. Mouth slightly open. Frozen expression. Looking like they just discovered a scandal.

It’s called the flehmen response.

Cats have a special scent organ in the roof of their mouth. That funny expression helps them gather more information about a scent.

Your cat may be investigating a smell much more closely than you realize. Meanwhile, you’re standing there wondering whether your socks have personally offended them. 🖤

Have you caught your cat doing this? I need to hear what they were smelling.

Follow Wicked Moon Maine C***s for more cat facts you’ll remember the next time your cat does something strange. 🌙

🐾 The ribbon on the gift can be more dangerous than the gift itself.

String, yarn, ribbon, and tinsel can become dangerous if swallowed. Long strands can catch inside a cat’s digestive tract and cause serious intestinal injury.

That’s why it matters to put wrapping supplies away and regularly check toys for loose pieces.

If you think your cat swallowed string or ribbon, contact your veterinarian promptly. Don’t wait to see whether they pass it on their own.

With curious kittens, a quick look around the floor after wrapping presents or finishing a craft project is time well spent. 🖤

Share this with a fellow cat person as we head toward gift wrapping season. 🌙
