The little white we**ie running around Hamlin has been caught! She is loaded with ticks and fleas and her nails are long overdo for a trim, but we’ll be taking care of all of that today! Then, she has a loving home to go to.

This boy is currently at The Critter Connection and will undergo surgery soon for a leg amputation. He was likely hit by a car as he has both a compound fracture and spiral fracture in his leg.

Though we are still trying to figure out how to pay for the surgery Star needs, we couldn’t let this guy stay in the severe pain he was in. Donations made will go towards his care/surgery.

Sweet Star can’t catch a break and is in need of major surgery. After finally healing from a snakebite wound that her previous owners neglected to have treated, she has now developed a crucial ligament deficiency.

Dr. Warner at Rock Lake Vet has recommended a TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) for her. The estimated amount for this is $4539.90.

She is the sweetest dog and has been through so much in her life. Having this surgery will fix her mobility issues and significantly decrease her pain.

We are seeking donations for this and/or a larger rescue who can afford a bill this large (we sadly cannot). We have applied for a grant, but the chances of receiving this are slim as she does not have a life threatening condition.

Today is our 2nd Anniversary! FOALC was founded on May, 20th 2024 with the initial goal of creating some form of animal shelter in Lincoln County, WV.

While we are still working on achieving that goal, here’s just a few of the things we have accomplished so far

🐾 Helped save the lives of over 300 animals
💰 Brought in $21,500 in grant money for spay/neuter services
🌳 Bought and cleared land to create the FOALC Rescue Center
🐕 Provided pet food assistance to multiple residences throughout the county
👮 Assisted law enforcement with several abuse/neglect cases
🚐 Purchased a van to use for transporting animals to partner rescues
🏠 Provided temporary housing for pets whose owners faced hard times

Our next goal is to get the Rescue Center under roof. We plan to erect a 30ft x 40ft metal building with a concrete foundation with a drainage system. We currently have $15,000 saved up, but need $27,000 to complete this step.

Spay/Neuter vouchers are going in the mail today! Be on the lookout if we have already approved you.

We are now operating on a waiting list. We should know by July/August if we’ll have any funding left and will issue more vouchers at that time if possible.

If you would like to get on the waiting list, please send an email to [email protected] with proof of residency in Lincoln County. This can be a photo of a bill or driver’s license.
